Hi Everyone, 10 of us are planning on going to PDC for a bachelor party on the July 1st weekend. We are thinking of renting a Villa instead of a hotel. The reason being that most of the all-inclusive hotels seem to be geared towards couples and a lot of our group are single men. We are also concerned that security would be all over us if we were drinking throughout the day. Not that we would be causing any trouble just don’t want to have to encounter any issues etc. The questions I am hoping people can help me with are; 1. Is renting Villas in PDC common for bachelor parties? Had a quick look online and most appear to be within a 1 mile radius of the PDC Maritime Terminal, is this close to the nightlife? 2. What is the nightlife outside the resorts like? Are the clubs expensive? Are drinks in general expensive? If anyone has any tips on what would make our stay better than they would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Congratulations to the groom. "Villa instead of a hotel because all-inclusive hotels are geared towards couples not single men." "Security might kick us out because we plan to be wasted." Sounds a bit like the image of Spring Break for College kids in my mind. "questions 1. Is renting Villas in PDC common for bachelor parties? " No. Doesn't mean it won't be good. "Is PDC Maritime Terminal close to the nightlife?" If you are talking the Ferry terminal, relatively, bars, restaurants, and clubs stretch more or less from Benito Juarez to Calle 40, up to perhaps about 15a more or less. The town itself main streat imo for locals is maybe 30av, Basically it is 5th and 10th av more or less for tourists Then you have 15th through 25th that is various downtown living Then you have 30th to the highway that is sort of core before 60th ave the further out you get the more local it gets. Then once you get out past calle 70 or the highway av it gets very local and suburby. There are a couple newer developments that are more planned yuppyish areas though on the edge of town. So to answer your question sure, just don't use the ATMs with your bankcard in that area, I have been swiped. Playacar is great for rentals and I highly recommend the area it is probably the most beautiful area for tourists. If you are talking the actual port outside of town near XPlore, not really. Although I am guesing you are talking the ferry terminal to Cozumel, not the shipping port outside of town. It is cheaper than Cancun. It all depends what you consider expensive. Playa is in general way cheaper than Cancun compared to the hotel strip in cancun. The lowest prices on the cancun hotel strip are likely some of the more expensive in PDC for non major events like BPM new years etc.. Bear in mind Cancun has more of the "Superclub" variety, whereas Playa has smaller clubs, but they still can accomoate a whole lot of people during peak event periods, but they fill, get packed etc.. during events. As for July this may be getting into low season, starting around September. I have been in Playa for the last couple months and try to get here one month a year if I can, this is my longest stay yet which will be about 3 1/2 months. I probably won't get to come back next year as my schedule has me in Australia currently next winter. None the less PM me for more info. I can answer any specific questions on PDC you may have. Hotels in Cancun tend to cost a lot more in the hotel zone, however there are still some cheap ones that allow like 4 people or so per room, they are still more costly than renting a place. If you are only down for a couple days though a hotel may be better off, if you plan on staying weeks or a month then renting will probably be better. Taxis are fairly cheap in PDC, not the same rates as the hotel zone in Cancun. You can easily pay $20 US for a cab in the hotel strip in Cancun, in PDC it is a lot less. Bear in mind there are "All you can drink" club nights in Cancun, so your drinking is basically the cost of tips. I am guessing this may also exist in PDC I havn't encountered it though. Local beers are fairly cheap (say 80 pesos for a 6 pack more or less) wine is also fairly cheap, bottle of tinto (red) starts at about $5 us (80+ pesos), liquour is fairly cheap (easy to find $10 bottles) if you plan on predrinking. Head to mega ect if you want to do drinking games when bars arn't open. Senor Frogs, Playa has relatively expensive escorts (these rates vary everywhere in the world) at the Pleasure Palace which is downtown near the beach, not to far from the terminal, rate is about that everywhere it is advertised. 100-250 US on average. If you want girls for the party this is probably the easiest most established place to get them, as prostitution is legal in Mexico but I think is officially managed or something, spas etc.. There is one sex shop in town if you want sex gag stuff right next to the ferry terminal on benito juarez. Lots of clubs/bars etc.. small restaurants are everywhere. Not sure where pole dancers etc.. are at. Not sure what you have planned other than getting drunk.
