A few of my friends and I are looking to take a vacation to Cancun in August. I figured a adults only all inclusive would be the best way to go. I found Temptation and thought it sounded like everything we want. We are all right around 25, a couple single, a couple married and I'm engaged. We're just looking to go and relax and have a good time.
I have a couple questions though if anyone could help me out? How many restaurants can you wear casual clothes to? Is one of the buffets casual clothing? I've read stuff on the website and it's not clear. Is it hard to get a chair by the pool? Should we worry about getting stuff stolen? Also my friend is a big smoker and I also smoke once in awhile...is smoking permitted on the resort in most places?
Lastly is anyone else going to be there say around the 18th-22nd of August???? :)
Thanks to anyone that answers any of my questions!!!

Getting there Aug 22-28 for first trip. Check out the pricing on American Express Travel or Travelocity (same outfit).

Thanks! The price between travelocity and expedia are about the same. From Milwaukee to Cancun it was $513 on Expedia and $521 on Travelocity. That's flight and hotel stay. I'm thinking I'd be dumb not to go at that price for 5 days/4 nights! Anyone have a preference between Expedia and Traveocity and why?

My husband and I will be there for a few days until the 20th. To answer your questions, if I remember correctly, the buffet was casual and I think we really only dressed up (meaning a nice summer dress and my husband wearing pants) for the italian restaurant. Regarding the pool chairs-I would usually get up pretty early and just leave a bag or a magazine there to let people know it's occupied because after 9 or 10am most of the good chairs were taken. No one is going to steal anything or at least as far as I remember no one stole anything the last time we were there.
Can't answer your question about Expedia or Travelocity-we always use a travel agent.
Well. book it and you won't regret it at all.

from my experience the service has been about the same, but travelocity has always been a little cheaper, and their trip insurance has been cheaper.

We will be there July 31 - August 9.

As for the chairs, like they said earlier, put a towel up but from our experience the last time we went, we were to busy having fun in the pool or playing the games so we never used the loungers. We didn't have any problems with anything being stolen.

Can't wait to go back again.

We found our price cheaper on yahoo travel than on expedia or travelocity. We saved a couple hundred each person.

Hope to see you all that will be there when we are. Let's get a booze cruise together.

I want to go back...... maybe we'll come then too

Just got back on May 27 for the first time and we had a fantastic time. This is a great resort for groups (as long as no one has trouble with seeing topless women and the occasional bottomless man running down to the beach to get his shorts) since everyone is so social. You will find yourself getting to know tons of people and having a great time hanging around the bar.

    As for your questions:
Casual clothing for dinner is limited to the buffet right now unless you want to eat outside. The buffet was closed a number of nights when we were there but there will probably be more people when you visit so it should be open. Bring short sleeved shirts (polo shirts etc) for the guys because the restaurants can get pretty warm when you are wearing pants.

It's always a good idea to store your valuables (like $$) in the safe to make sure nothing leaves your room but we had no troubles there or by the pools. I recommend a cheap watch to bring for the pool and excursions since there are no clocks and you do not want to be late or have to ruin a nice watch in the pool.

When it is busy you do need to get up very early to get a poolside chair but we found we reserved chairs every day and did not sit in them at all. Plenty of chairs by the quiet pool if you want though.

No smoking inside (like the restaurants or Nice Shoes) but they hand out plenty of ash trays around the pool and Patty O's Bar.

Bring all your friends and make sure to get involved in the games and activities. It's always more fun to watch the games when you have friends making a fool of themselves....but the best part is....nobody gives a Sh--
