question? has anyone been able to use their cell phones using AT&T service while at Temptations? And if so, do you know of an add on to the plan for the month is available without changing the original minute and data plan?
Just got back, used our AT&T phone, you can add a plan for Mexico starting at $30 for 80 minutes. There are higher plans as well, otherwise it is $1.00 per minute. Paul
Yes, you can add the Mexico international plan. Make sure you turn your data roaming off or you charges will be sky high. Dawn
AT&T phones will work fine at Temptations roaming on the TelCel network. As Fred said you can not do anything and just pay $1/min. Also I believe that if anyone leaves you a voicemail you are charged like it was a phone call, so 2 minute voicemail would cost you $2. International roaming plans and features are just added to your current plan so adding/changing/removing them do not affecting your existing plan in any way. The roaming in Mexico voice plans are: $30 for 80 min $60 for 200 min $120 for 500 min Incoming texts when you are roaming are treated just like a domestic text message, so if you have an unlimited messaging plan receiving a text in Mexico is free. Sending a text pay-per-use is $0.50 and a picture message is $1.30. Roaming in Mexico text/picture messaging plans are: $10 for 50 sent messages $30 for 200 sent messages $60 for 600 sent messages Data is where it can get really really expensive. Of all the dumb or stupid mistakes you can make while at Temptations checking that little box to allow data roaming on your smartphone is one of the biggest. Data roaming charges are an amazing $20,447/GB (.0195/KB). At that rate watching a movie on Netflix would cost just a tad over $10,000. So whatever you do go ahead and leave data roaming set to off. Roaming in Mexico data rates are better, but not much: $30 for 120MB $60 for 300MB $120 for 800MB Hope this helps!
I have the Mexico to US plan. It's $4.99 a month and then $0.59 per minute. You can stop and start the plan whenever you want so you don't have to pay the $4.99 all year, just for the month/months you'll be in Mexico.
