Are you allowed to wear shorts in the restaurants in the evening? A few of them state no shorts/jeans. Just want to make sure and pack the right clothes. Thanks for any help!
Never had any problems since I only brought shorts. Only place we didn't eat was the Asian restaurant, but I saw people walk in with shorts so I'm assuming they allow it there too.
I have been refused service or seated outside the Italian Restaurant in years past for wearing shorts. Also have seen others seated outside as well but also have seen guys in shorts inside the restaurant as well. Depends on the mood of the host and probably how many reservations for the evening. I always throw in a pair of pants just in case - better than explaining "i forgot" to my wife!
We did not have a problem last week. I went one time in nice shorts and once in khakis. It was sooo hot though that we actually preferred to sit outside where there was a breeze. I think if you wear nice shorts, not board shorts or cut offs or something, and don't wear flip flops you will probably be OK. You may want to toss in some khakis just to be sure though. Make sure you ask for the sexy coffee after dinner at the Italian restaurant
Some nice dark jeans are more than ok for any of the restaurants. Shorts are hit and miss. I'll always wear nice jeans and shirts to the dinners. Chances are your wife is dressing up in a nice sexy dress, guys might as well put forth a tiny amount of effort as well.
Agree 100%. Dress for a reservation restaurant. Shorts don't cut it Is it so hard to put on a pair of pants? And a collared shirt? If it is, there are 3 options for sloppy casual. Tex-Mex, Bella Vista or the buffet. Italian and Asian are reservations and dress code. Let's keep it that way. These 2 are the top places on the property and not Howard Johnsons or The Sizzler. A lil respect for the staff goes a long way. Maybe it has to with how I was raised, but if I showed up to dinner at my mother's table, without cleaning up and properly attired, I would've starved growing up. Rules are in place and well publicized. Why post on CCC asking for permission to ignore the protocol? Never will understand guys putting the Maitre D in the position of being the bad guy. And if you show up underdressed and get in, know U are the exception, not the rule, and TIP generously!! But somehow I believe, if it is too much to dress for dinner, then chances are there are no pesos in the pockets either.
I agree with Marshe, the amount of times this is posted is always hilarious to me. I pack a nice pair of linen pants, very comfortable even in hot weather for wearing to the restaurants. There are stated rules, follow them. Might you be able to get in with a nice pair of shorts on? Sure. Why risk it, and why put an employee in the position of having to play the bad guy? The duality of the resort is actually quite interesting, a bunch of men expecting their wives to dress to the high heavens with their tits and ass hanging out for God and everyone to see while they bitch about having to wear pants and taking off their flip flops. I personally ALWAYS dress to the nines when there with my wife, regardless of what everyone else is doing. If she is willing to wear a wicked weasel suit in front of hundreds of people I damn sure can dress nicely enough that I could walk in a restaurant in San Fran or New York and get a seat. Theme nights are much the same. Granted I look around the resort and wonder (aloud frequently) how these guys landed these women, but the men need to step their games up.
Very well worded and I agree completely! (Mr. team here) I always pack some linen pants - plenty cool and comfortable for an evening out. Very "beachy" looking too. Come on guys - step up your game!
Hubby is always dressed stylish for our dinners - he wears dress shorts/linen pants and has never been turned away from any restaurant. As long as you are stylish and present well instead of attempting to walk in just freshly out of the sexy pool (almost dry :icon_question expecting to be seated; odds are good you will be turned away - LMAO!! Common sense goes a long way, but obviously - lost on some :banghead: (I am referencing those that were turned away after demanding to be seated even though they didn't meet the dress code and they were soaked ... HELLO??? - caused a scene and just didn't get it) true story - swear!! So, like others have stated here - rules are posted based on dress attire ... going out with the wife for a nice dinner; therefore, you dress accordingly. With all suggested clothing ideas listed here - you get the idea and I am sure you do this anyways (you got this - lol) ... have a blast guys and make sure you find time to post a trip report - luv to hear all about your time at TTR guys!! Cheers!!
