Hello!!!! Just a question about the bugs in April - are they bad? Do we need to bring any bug spray, or will we be fine without it? I've never been to Cancun in April, only October... and let's be honest, if there are a bunch of lady parts hanging out everywhere (which, of course there will be)... well, you get the picture :)

    Thanks in advance!

Agree with Sam and Robin. If you can handle mosquitos up here in Canada you'll be a-ok. The Mexican variety seem to be less voracious in their appetites lol

Have been bit around the Qujiet pool bar at night , and heard of people getting bit at the beach ( sand fleas) but very rarely.

The raised section at patios does have strange creatures crawling around at night , but I don't think they bite.

LOL well that's good to know, because even though where I live we aren't "in the bush", the mosquitoes here definitely like to suck!!!! :)

We were just there. The wife got attacked by something on her legs but that's it. Whatever it was didn't bother me. I'm thinking sand flea's. Did see a few blood suckers

Ali uses bug spray at night as she has a horrible reaction on her legs to whatever is flying around. Maybe sand fleas but I'm not sure as we are rarely on the beach. I've had a few bites but they don't get like hers.

I never visit without insect repellent. They eat me alive! I really react to every bite and it's just unpleasant. I have permanent scars on my leg from the damn mosquito or sand flea bites from last year. Doesn't seem to make much difference if there's loads about or just a few.

If you're one of the unlucky ones like me that get bites, definitely bring a spray.
