My husband and I are searching for a furnished 2br in Cancun with air conditioning, and a washer. (Also kitchen appliances such as refrigerator and stove). We don't speak spanish yet (we just moved here), so we'd like to find an english speaker willing to help us get set up with cable, internet, etc. We'd like to pay $500-$600 US/month. We're open to other locations and higher rent for the right place. We can survive without a washer (we don't have one now), but our goal is to upgrade from what we have now. Thanks for your help!
Most apts here won't come with all appliances...some won't come with any at all. For the price range you are in you need to be prepared to buy the appliances you need. Sorry to say.
Really?? Yuck. Our apt is in that range (depending on the exchange) and was furnished with (newer) fridge and (older) stove and furniture. Of course, the closest (clean) laundromat is not close... Edit: I should've added that we looked at several apartments after we got here, just to compare and I haven't seen one under a $1k with washing machine hook-ups, let alone an actual washing machine
Well, I rent my condo out with appliances (and fans, and light fixtures and a/c) included...because I figure that it decreases wear and tear on the unit to have them stay put...and I can charge more with them included. But I think it's not all that common to rent a place with all appliances. Seems that often the owner will include a stove or fridge but a washing machine, I doubt it. Most people I know who rent here have had to buy some or all of their appliances. When we rented we had to buy a washing machine, a fridge, and a dishwasher...our rental had a horrible stove. Then we bought our house and had to buy a stove.
Hi flutterby, I have been living in Cancun for a little over 2 years and now I have to leave... Anyway, how is your apt search going? I am moving out of a really nice 3 bedroom place, 2 baths, nice pool and 24hr security near plza las americas. I can recomend you to my landlord if you are still looking. Also a year ago when i moved here i purchased a new washer/dryer, fridge, micro and everything...but those i need to sell. Let me know if you need any help with anything like phone, gas etc. The landlord speaks pretty good english too I think.
Coby The original post says CANCUN in the middle of the very first line. So the answer to your question presumably would be "Cancun". And that's my final answer.
It also says they are "open to other locations" shortly after that. But anyway, the OP and I actually already met in Playa (they considered Isla Mujeres too and Puerto Morales.) They looked at places here, found one, but issues with her husband's work prevented the move. They ended up getting a place in the HZ in Cancun instead Very nice people; would've liked to have had them as neighbors!
