Ok This is our third trip. In the past we have taken a day and went into town. Usually into the main part of Mexico. We really don't want to hit the night clubs at night but wondering about the hotel zone for an afternoon trip. Anything there to do?

We heard and are planning on taking the ferry over to the Isle Majueres. My understanding is you can rent golf carts and drive around.

Two places we really liked was the Hacienda El Mortero ( a great restaurant) and Carlos and Charles which had great food and drinks and a really fun crowd and staff!

Plenty. Isla Mujeres is an excellent idea for a day trip. We've also been to Xel-Ha, but that was a long day. There's beach clubs, bars, shopping etc you can do in the hotel zone, and very cheap bus fare. If you like beaches, the beach is better in the hotel zone bit of Cancun. I can recommend Carlos and Charlies. Went to Senor Frogs as well, but I found that place a bit cliche, overpriced and boring.

Isla Mujeres is a must! There's nothing quite like drunken golf cart rides, aka bumper carts, around the island. And I think it's only $45-$50 to rent one for the day. You can hit the beach, drive thru liquor stores, shops, sea turtle preserve, etc. And there's a great beach club called Zama. We go for lunch and are able to use the pools, jacuzzi, and beach. And they'll bring your drinks right to the pool. It makes for a great relaxing day away from TTR.

I am sorry.. why would anyone leave Temptation for even one day.. we had all intentions of doing all kinds of side trips and never made..
this time around we have no expectations.. plus we were way to hung over to even move during the day.. never mind shopping!!!

Last trip was 10 days. We thought a day break at the isle would let our livers rest. The Isle was great but no rest for the liver.

I'm at Temptation for one week a year...that leaves 51 weeks to shop once I get home. No chance I'm gonna leave the resort unless I'm on a catamaran with Steve.
