Does anyone have Vista? Are you having problems with it??? I just recently installed it, and i'm having lots of problems with it.. It won't accept half my programs, plus, I HAVE NO SOUND!!!... Anyone know where to find sound that will work for it.. I have a Dell Dimension 4600.. Thanks in advance...
I don't have it, Greta but have heard nothing good about it. I know a few people who do and they have had nothing but problems with it. Most have uninstalled it.
I've tried to uninstall it, and reinstall XP, but for some reason, it won't let me... I can't even watch my Big Brother 24/7 feeds till I get the sound.... Ugggg..
That's perhaps the biggest reason why I haven't purchased a new computer with the new operating system. Too many bugs (as usual) for this new Microsoft OS release.
Get A Mac! :lol: Not sure what the problem is there Greta if you do a fresh install of XP you should be fine.... sound should definitely work, try making sure all cables are plugged in and alsoeverything is on, speakers etc....sound settings at the top and you would have to reinstall your soundcard drivers with any new OS install matter fact all your drivers ie...graphics card and so on
I just bought a new laptop recently with Vista and I haven't been particularly proud of it. Haven't had the kind of problems you're having, but it does have some bugs.
Greta- If you go out to Dell's website and go to downloads and drivers...it should walk you through how to download the sound driver back on your computer. We had the same problem with our Dell at home (dosn't have Vista though) and once we downloaded the driver our sound worked fine. Hope this helps a bit. Thanks Bridget
Thanks all, but nothing works lol.. I've tried it all.. Downloading some more sound drivers right now.. The ones from dell didn't work either... It won't let me put XP back on my computer. It says the os I have on my computer is newer than the one I was trying to install yada yada yada.. I'll get it eventually though lol.
