Just wondering if anyone snorkels or scuba dives while at Resort. If so, I would appreciate any advice, tips or general info. Thanks.
adams A lot of people snorkel when they go on booze cruises. They allow about an hour or so for this activity. They have a dive instructor @ the resort. I'm sure he could hook you up with a dive. Also Sergio @ the towel hut can hook you up with more extensive snorkeling or diving excursions. (Sergio would be the bald one) Hope this helps, I'm sure experienced divers will have more info on this Scott
We took the scuba lesson in the pool with Boris then booked a scuba excursion with him. It was awesome. We are not certified, but with the brief lessons we were able to do a 45 minute, 30 foot dive with no problems. We are hoping to get certified now.
Hi guys, last time we were at TTR I (les) booked 2 dives from the beachside hut. It was amazing and can't wait to dive next week.
Thanks Thanks for the responses. Looks like we will be booking for a late February or early March 2010 trip. If anyone else is booking this time, please feel free to contact us.
Temptation's scuba guy, Boris, gives free introductions to scuba diving Most days, you can find him and the gear alongside the the Activity Pool (between the Sexy and Quiet) pools. On my last visit, I went for the first time - it was about $85 or so for everything. After training in the pool, you take a boat ride to a reef off Isla Majures. You get 45 minutes of bottom time, about 40 feet down. Like swimming a tropical aquarium. You will love it! As to snorkelling off Temptation's beach... not much too see except yucky sea grass. For that, you're best off to Coz, Xcaret, etc.
Scuba Boris is the best! Find him. He's a curly headed blond Canadien with 30 years of Scuba experience.
The booze cruise with steve was soo fun, the snorkeling was cool, its like you are in an aquarium. we also had a private car and took it to half moon bay which our friends snorkeld and loved it, not to mention its free, the beachside restaurant was awesome to sit and chill and have a nice drink while snorkeling. good luck, last year got me addicted.
If you're already scuba certified & are interested in more than the resort course dive, we have the contact info for a great dive master, pm if you want it.
