Still trying to figure where to take daughter for college graduation. This is reported to also be a young party place. Anyone know anything?

The last thing I heard was they were changing their vibe/theme after their failed attempt at a TTR atmosphere.

She asked about Oasis Cancun. Oasis Viva (where the TTR concept never took off) is now sold, and is a Dreams. The adult only Oasis is the Grand Oasis Sens.

We stayed at Sens, which I liked. MUCH more laid back and quiet than TTR, though. We visited Grand Oasis Cancun, which I did not like. Too big, too spread out, you can't walk all the way around the pool without going back and forth over bridges, too many kids, too many families. I just didn't care for it at all. Plus there is a huge difference between Oasis Cancun and Grand Oasis Cancun, and probably even more of a difference in upgrades. If you don't pay for the upgrades, you can't eat or drink at half of the places, and it will probably be all the places where you'd like to eat.

We had VIP Club room at the Sens, but they still wouldn't let us eat at the "better" places when we visited Oasis Cancun. Plus they act like their towels are made of gold, we had to haggle to get some, because we didn't bring our ID. We had a pass from Sens, which Sens told us would be enough -- but they didn't want to let their red towels go.

We were there for about two hours, most of it wandering around being miserable. No place we were allowed to eat sounded that great, the pool was jam packed with families and kids --- we gave them their precious towels back, and went back to the Sens to have lunch.

If I was taking a teen/young adult -- I'd probably go with a RIU hotel.

I stayed there years ago with a group of guys, it was a blast. If you read som reviews on tripadvisor I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for. Most places have staff that take groups out to the local clubs at night. Temptation is the resort we go to now and don't leave all week.

Temptation is great, but I don't think I'd take my college grad daughter there, that might be a bit .... awkward. LOL. I'd like to take my adult son to Cancun at some point -- he'll be 21 in May. I think I'd go to a RIU.

Ya, Temptation would not be the place to go with one of your kids. Study tripadvisor for a while, you'll find what you are looking for.

What kind of place are you looking for? Are you wanting somewhere that's a college party place for her, or are you looking more for a family getaway celebration?

I don't think i'd go to TTR for a week with my dad.

He'd spend all of his time trying to find me a wife lol

I had stayed at the Grand Oasis Playa, which is also an adults only hotel, and then got to visit all of the sister hotels, including Oasis Cancun. I had gone in March and Oasis Cancun was spring break central--drunk college kids everywhere, you could hardly find a spot to sit. It does have more of the "party zone" atmosphere for teens/young adults and is a larger resort with lots of nice pools--Being her age, she would probably enjoy it there. :)
