My policy (house) has already expired, I didn't notice but they didn't send me any renewal note.

So I just called and the good news of the day is the company (Metropolitana) now refuse any new or renewal policy for properties on the beach.

Anyone can recommend one that doesn't have exorbitant prices? Not a bank since I can't open an account only for that. I am with Banorte and the prices are very high.... and I don't know if they pay or not.

    Thanks

What are people paying for insurance

I was quoted over 14,000 MXN for my house NOT on the beach.
    Two level house, 5 bedrooms.
How does that compare to what everyone is paying ?

I think we talk about this after Wilma.

Insurance companies will not take new costumers since Wilma and even decline some other as Oasis that most of their properties are ocean front in the same spot.

When getting an insurance policy it is very important to know and trust the agent as he or her will be the one to set any reclamation to the insurance company as well to remind you when to pay and all that stuff.

We do have our ocean front house insurance as well as all our belongings, from clothes and electronic stuff to Barbie collections and furniture

I suggest to call Diego Carrazco Zannini 884-1361

Yes, I am talking of post-Wilma, and my company refused me this year (3th renewal, although we got no hurricane since Wilma)

I wouldn't say Diego is very reliable. He came home, promised me a lot of things, he was sure to do miracles in many ways, ......... and never contacted me again (he was supposed to last Friday).

Either he can't do anything, or he is not interested in my business, but I finished calling 1000 times those people. Exhausting and useless. If he can't, it would be polite -and businesswise- to let me know. I also have a car, he will not get it. And I will not recommend him either.

So I guess I have to pray

I have found a highly professional person. That exists!!! :D

She replied to my emails (reads them on her blackberry), returned my calls, and came home KNOWING what company would accept to insure me. Within 24 hours from my first call, I had the papers filled in and signed.

I highly recommend her: Nohemi de la Cruz Fuentes, 848-0673 and 998-845-1703
