Hey everyone, I've been lurking and reading on these forums for weeks now. It's time for my wife and I to join! I'm totally convinced this would be a great trip for us, and we are looking at week 7 (Feb 2013), exact dates TBD. I have so many questions and have been reading literally for weeks in an attempt to not sound ignorant and ask questions that have already been addressed repeatedly. So here's what I'm left with: 1. Everyone keeps talking about these great room rates, and I am seeing comparatively expensive rates for the dates we are looking at (taking Feb 18-25 as an example). Alpharooms has it for $230/nt, and that's the cheapest site by far. Most places are in the $325/nt range. I've played around a little with the dates and they are all pretty similar. Why am I not seeing the more common $150 rate that everyone seems to be getting? will add that we I CAN'T risk our trip getting canceled at all -- kids are out of school that week and this trip is to celebrate our ten year anniversary. I will never hear the end of it if something happens... 2. I would like to do the Boobs Cruise, and obviously dates that far out are unknown. We have a 2-3 day window to move our trip around, ie we can go Feb 16-23 or Feb 18-25... I'm trying to figure out, which day of the week do the cruises most frequently occur? I'd hate to get there Monday afternoon (the 18th) for example and find out that I'm going to miss it. Once I book airfare, we are obviously locked into our dates. 3. We're pretty conservative, but still like to party. The wife has explicitly stated, with 100% confidence, that her top will stay on, and I have no intention to pressure her to do otherwise. Will we be viewed as prudes? We love people watching and having a good time, and we're very friendly, but will probably stay dressed. All my other questions like what rooms to request, what to bring, etc have been answered in the thousands of posts I've read over the last couple weeks. This trip will be completely unlike anything we have ever done before! I'm excited! Laurie is excited for the trip, but I don't think she really has a grasp of what this is going to be like. She's not into reading (or posting) on forums, ever, so all her expectations are going to be based on whatever I tell her. All the cheap rooms are probably gone, Orbitz is at 327 @ night that is steep for that time frame A lot of women keep their tops on ,, especially after burning the babies on the first day As for rooms tell your travel agent to request what you want. Check the threads for your time frame for specialty theme nights nights and Boobs Cruise dates
You never know, my wife was exactly the same 100% will not be topless on our first trip. Within maybe 5 minutes at the pool it was off and has never come back. Good things happen at TTR, haha!
Welcome!!! We always book a package deal(room and airfare) together. Being out of Denver the airfare separately is killer. We have had over 14 trips with prices all over the place. But it is the best bet for us. When it comes to the Boobs Cruise you will probably be there during one. As for your wives top that is never an issue, if you don't take it off there is never any pressure. Just GO,ENJOY and PARTY!!! Debbie
We were in and still kind of are in the same position as yourselves. We will be there Feb 16-23 and it will be our first trip. Like you we dont fully know what to expect but after being part of this forum for a while we definately get the feeling that it can be as crazy or as mild as you want. You could spend all day at the quiet pool or the beach or simply head there if you need a break from all the action. A good thing to do would be to search "first timers trip report" in the forums and read what others that were in our position had to say when all was said and done. It seems like Steve creates the cruise dates about a month or so in advance, most likely based on the concentration of people at any given time(my best guess). I'm pretty confidant there will be a cruise during the time we are there as there are a lot of other people there as well so it would only make sense. See u in he february 2013 roll call!!!!
Well, up in Canada there are a lot of good package deals that come out, never look at just the room itself. The different companies negotiate rates with resort groups...and obviously the airlines. As far as the top...good luck with that either way...I've seen many keep them on the entire week, but many that say they won't and off it comes...either way, it's for your fun and comfort Enjoy and welcome!
Well, if you book with Orbitz, it looks like going from Feb 18-25 will cost you only $2252 when flying with Spirit Airlines out of Detroit. That is a decent price for when you want to go, and with Orbitz, you can be assured that your reservation will be there. You guys will have a blast! Sometimes, Alpharooms isn't the cheapest option available.
