As most of you know, the American Smile Clinic enjoys a stellar reputation in the community. Dr. Mario Grassi and Dr. Andy Meyers are great people to know and skilled, compassionate dentists. So imagine our horror when our middle son arrived here with a miserable toothache, (3 weeks after a root canal done in the UK) and we were told that both Dr. Grassi and Dr. Meyers were away. The receptionist informed us that there was a new dentist, Dr. Guadalupe Delgado Figeroa who was covering the office. Desperation being the mother of adventure, we drove down to the clinic and met Dr. Delgado, Lupita to her friends, which we now are. We discussed the problem, in English, a definite plus for you language-phobes, and she outlined what she thought might be needed to be done. After a few X-rays, with her diagnosis confirmed, she showed us the problem, an infection known as an apical abscess, which had infiltrated the gum above the root canal and spread to the adjacent tooth. We’re talking about the two front teeth. Ouch. Lupita also had a few unkind words about the technique of the National Health quack in London. In the course of 90 almost totally pain-free minutes, treatment was initiated, proper repairs to the involved tooth were done, medication was prescribed, and Danny (our son) is to return Monday afternoon for the completion of the job. What’s most impressive (besides the reasonability of the fee) is that after major surgery on his gums he remains totally free of any pain and discomfort. Lupita gets bonus points for that. In fact, after this is dealt with, Danny’s decided to have a complete examination and get anything else that needs attention taken care of before returning overseas. So, as you can tell, we are very happy with the professional services provided by this young, charming and thoroughly skilled and capable practitioner and can strongly recommend her as yet another choice at American Smile.
