My wife and I are planning on coming to TTR in July of this year, I check the prices of the flights and hotel rooms about once a week to make sure they don't start to creep up before I can book the trip (can't do it yet, unfortunately, waiting on something to get resolved first). When I went to alpharooms earlier today and put in the dates, the basic (ie least expensive) room is no longer an option to book and the next cheapest is over $500 higher!! I put in some dates in June just to see what it said and it came back the same. Expedia, Orbitz, etc are all less expensive now. Is alpharooms not offering those rooms anymore?? TIA
Alpharooms sometimes is a hit or miss on the days. The room time we booked went from $750 to $1100 in just one day. I kept looking after I booked it and it never got that low again. I say hold out and keep checking daily until you just got to book something.
Travel companies like Alpharooms usually have a specified number of rooms blocked that they can offer through their agency. I would bet is that the number of rooms that had available to them during your dates has been fufilled.
just checked and it was $877 for a week in may. $50 less than we paid a couple months ago. just wait and try again everyday. it will go down im sure
That's what I figured it was as well, until I put in the dates in June and it showed the same thing. I can't imagine they sold out for both of those weeks but maybe they have. I'll just keep checking back and see if it drops.
It isn't the rooms as much as the airfares that have gone up. We went to Mexico 3 times last hear from Ft Lauderdale to Cancun each time for just over 250 each. The flight are up as much as 600 each. What are they thinking? Just keep checking all the. Vacation sites we are headed down with the kids for Spring Break and got all inclusive plus air for less than a hundred a day. Booked attract with alpharooms for may and spirit air the air was the expense at @350 a person now.
Try kenwoodtravel.com I paid $1800 for 14 nights from july - august for us two. It was cheaper than alpharooms. Price was 1133 pounds total but after bank transfer it was around $1800 usd.
Spoke too soon I guess, the cheap room is listed on the site again for the same as before, must've been a computer glitch.
