We are looking at coming back to Cancun in June for a bit longer (and hopefully drier, damn storm) vacation than we had in October this year. I have been looking at several sites to find the least expensive option when I went to alpharooms. Their rate for the "double deluxe" room is significantly less than most I have seen elsewhere. My question is what type of room is this as the descriptions don't match up well with Temptation's website. I would have to guess that the double deluxe is a deluxe garden room, is that right? In the search I have done most have been very satisfied with using alpharooms, anyone have a bad experience? Thanks in advance!! :daveandmo:
Used them one time with no problems , used Skoosh about five times with no problems ...Doesn't seem to be much of a system as to were your room will be, the front desk seems very willing to move to different area if u ask... Have a blast!!!!!
Other than the Jacuzzi rooms, Premiere rooms, or the suites, with some talking at the front desk if need be, you can end up just about anywhere. I use Alpha and book their cheapest room and negotiate at the front desk if necessary but haven't had to yet. Oh, and count me as one of the pleased ones and coming from the link on this site, Steve, the Board Owner, gets a kickback to help fund the Board and his extravagant lifestyle living in Cancun... (Steve you know I'm kidding about the extravagance of your lifestyle) Jamie
The room you would get is one of the older rooms with two double beds and no real private balcony or view for that matter. You would definitely want to try and upgrade your room when you arrive, and it would probably be pretty easy in June to find another room. So if you can get a real cheap airfare, then booking with Alpharooms is the way to go. But if you can only get a decent flight for 2 people around $900/$1000, then consider booking with Expedia. For example, we are going in May, and for two people staying in an ocean view room with one King bed for 7 nights/8 days runs $2097. However, if I book the flight separate, it would cost almost $1000 for just the flight. Then an additional $1010 for the worst room from Alpharooms. So I would be saving money, but we love staying in Building 1 overlooking the quiet pool and the ocean so it is worth it to us to pay the extra cash to be assured we get the room we want.
Since I can fly out of Atlanta, the fares are pretty cheap. As much as I hate that airport, the good thing is that you can get pretty inexpensive direct flights almost anywhere. Combining That with the cheap room from alpha would save over $300, so I can deal with a little talking at the front desk. If I do book it I would certainly use the link found here as it is the only way I would know about it. Gotta take care of those that take care of us right?!?! Question about travelling in June, i figured it would be slower than other times of the year, but it is not empty is it? Also, is the weather generally pretty good (ie: not a tropical storm) at that time? Not terribly worried about that as being from FL originally I know it is not hurricane season, but thought i would ask. Thanks again!!
many times I have used alpharooms many times to various locations around the world and to Temptation at least 4 times.. and have always been given the room of my choice when politely requested.:wink3:
Statistically the best weather and times are in April, then May, There is also large groups from cc that go there at those time.
I made my reservations for our January trip through bookit.com. I checked most of the popular internet travel sites and they saved me around $500 for an ocean view room.
just booked alpharooms for 7 nights in May for $875 per couple and our flights at $399 RT non stop on US AiRways!! total all taxes and fees $1673 :huepfen013:
