Alpha Room Problem

    I booked a room for Kristy and I and a room for Kristy's sister and Brother in law. I paid the deposit for each room. We later found out that Kristy's sister and brother in law could not go. Alpha Rooms showed on thier website that I could change the main passenger name. There was no indication that this had to be approved by the provider or hotel.

    So I posted on here that I had a room and someone wanted it. I had paid a $90 deposit so I paid the remaining balance. I have been working to get the name change. They originally don't tell me anything about the name change has to be approved. Later, after many international calls, they tell me the name change has to be approved but don't expect a problem. Then yesterday, after I call again, they tell me the provider/hotel will not allow a name change. I would have never paid the remaining balance and told someone I would sell them the room if I had any indication there was a possibility of the name change not happening.

    So, I am out $375 for the room and over $100 in international phone calls. I am so mad and I have requested they provide a full refund.

    Question, how many people have made the name change with alpha rooms?

    Looks like I may be done with Alpha Rooms and all the Original Resorts. Kristy will be disappointed in us never going to Desire again but I don't like being screwed out of $500.

    name change

    I have changed names quite a few times over the years without a problem.. find it very strange for Temptation to do this. Wonder if its because its only 2weeks to departure..

    the issue is they are sold out for the first or nearly sold out and are charging 400 for the one night so thats why they won't switch it.....dirty work in my opinion.

    I think the best thing to do is contact the hotel James. It seems like it is the hotel that's not allowing the change rather than Alpharooms. I've no idea why that would be, it seems a very straightforward and reasonable request.

    I've definitely heard of people changing the names on bookings before, we haven't done it ourselves but have changed dates with no problem.

    I have contacted the hotel and the response is that it is thier policy not to change names and to contact the agency.

    The room is not in my name. I booked 2 rooms, one for me and one for my wife's sister and brother in law. Maybe I should have booked both of them in my name.

    So, the hotel are saying Alpharooms should change it and Alpharooms are saying the hotel wont let them. I really dont know what to suggest other than keep badgering away at them both.

    I look at all the money I have spent with Desire and Temptations and think how can they do this to me. I called them and explained and they just don't care. Kristy will be real disappointed to not go back but this is horrible customer service. The week trips to Desire are about $2800 and then all the trips to BBG and they can't change a name for me. So I have spent a good $15000 dollars or more with them and this is what I get.

    I am done with this resort and all of their other resorts. I can't even get the refund that I am due, 25%, from Alpha rooms. They just don't respond.
