We are thinking about booking a last minute trip tonight, to come down for 5 days this week... We were at Temptation in august and there were no real issues/differences from normal travel other than wearing a mask and there being nearly no one in the airports. Has anything changed? We are coming from the US. Do you have to take covid tests in mexico or to get in mexico, things like this? My only concern is showing up at the airport and hitting a snag that keeps us from going on our trip. Thanks
No, no, no... to your questions. No tests at airports. Masks at airports only. Not required bu USA Transfers. No temp checks at TTR. Staff wearing masks and still assisted buffet. You do need to fill out a form at CUN airport upon return either paper version or on phone before being allowed to go thru security and also walk by a thermal scanner. They have a “temporary isolation” chair (a chair in the middle of an open area surrounded by ropes) I suppose for those that are found to have temp.
Just remember, things are fluid and can change instantly. But, I think you made the right call. Enjoy!
We were asked to fill out covid questionnaires going both ways but no one on either end collected. I love bureaucracy. Maybe they would have asked for if we had temps?
We flew into Cancun on November 6 and home on November 13. Masks are required at the airport. We needed to fill out a form declaring our medical condition before arriving, and again before departing, but nobody looked at them at either time. We went to Desire, not Temptation, however they were checking temperatures remotely at the front entrance. Masks were not required except in the gift shop. Our USA Transfers drivers asked us to wear a mask when we were in their vehicle to/from the airport. This was also true of our transfer to/from the Boobs Cruise.
We were there the 10th to the 15th. Only had to fill out a questionnaire about Covid at the airport both when we landed and left. Although they didn’t even ask for it when we landed but they did ask for it before we went through security before leaving. Everything everyone else says is accurate. We also had to have our temperature checked when we arrived at the resort.
I am curious about the inconsistent temperature check. (Well not really...see last comment below) Wonder if it depends if you “look” overheated or if they know you? They certainly know us and we were not checked for Labor Day trip. Also were nor asked to wear masks in transfer to and from airport. Remember this folks... The most consistent thing about TTR, or possibly MX in general, is inconsistency! That’s what kind of makes it fun
New Virus rules spreading across the US, mostly closing bars and restaurants after 10pm. Was wondering how Temptation is dealing with food service, still buffet style? Also any tips on what's good. Can't wait to get away for a bit.
The sit-down restaurants basically function as normal. The buffet is assisted (they walk around with you and put your food on a plate). Other than that there isn't much difference, aside from the employees wearing masks. As of right now there aren't any restrictions or changes in progress that will change this. Mexico has it's own Green/Orange/Yellow/Red system that is regional to them and not dependent on the US.
