First off, We would like to say hello to everyone! We've been wanting to visit TTR for a while now, and have been following the site for the last couple of years. The information that you all have provided on this site has been amazing!

It looks like we will be coming Aug. 18-25. I'm finalizing the flight right now, but I'm not sure what time we want to arrive in Cancun. I've tried to search older threads for an approx. time it takes to get from the airport to TTR (using USA Transfers), but cant seem to find anything. Right now, it looks like we could get there around 11:30, but would that be too early with check-in being 3pm? How long does it take to get to the hotel? Thanks again. Hope to meet you all soon!

    Kristin and Zac

I can't answer your question about how long it takes to get to TTR from the airport, sorry, but I can suggest you guys just pack your swimsuits in your carryon bags and get them before they store your luggage if it's too early to check in! Hit the pool and grab some drinks, and let the vacation begin! :D

Time depends on your transport.. if you have a private one 20-30min tops. If you're sharing one with other couples and stops (ie Best Day, Lomas, etc.), depends on what stop you are and if there is an available van ready to go. I recommend a private one- although it costs more, it's waiting for you when you get there. Oh- and getting there early is no problem. We usually get to the resort around noonish. You'll get your wrist band and can enjoy the amenities... drinks, pool, drinks, drinks, etc... as soon as you get there. They'll also let you know when you're room will be ready.

Thanks for the Tip! That's what I was hoping to do, but wasn't sure if they would allow it if we were to show up that early.

Well I sure hope they allow it, LOL! Our flight arrives at 11:30 as well, and that's what we plan to do. I've read that tip here on the forums, so I think it's definitely allowed. ;)

We have used USA the last couple times, from the Red Light Green Light to TTR has been about 20 minutes. As for being early shouldnt be a problem. They will store your bags and to the pool if you like until check in.

Exactly. Have swimsuit or other preferred light clothing in the carry-on and head to the pool etc... USA tranfers are the best solution to the shuttle needs in my 8 different experiences.

They will keep your bags at the bell desk til your room is ready. Just pack your pool neccessities(suits, SUNSCREEN, hats, shorts...whatever) separately in a bag that you can easily get to so you aren't unpacking bags to get what you need.
For my own piece of mind, I make sure that any valueables(passports, jewellry etc.) are in this bag that will stay with me til my room is ready. As well as my sunglasses, sandals, a cover-up(for lunch), sunscreen, my hat.

Hi, this was my first time too, me and the lady. It took us about 20-25 minutes too get to TTR after droping off two folks. Watchout for the guys in the little boths. They act like their giving info for the country, when really their trying to sell you junkets which you can get on the resort, very annoying.. Also i would get their about 2ish as you cant really check in until 3pm. Sometimes you can get your room early. Also try to call the resort and ask for a room on the second floor, much cooler. The staff is really nice, try to tip then when you deem, as they dont make alot of money. Make sure you and the lady venture off the resort and across the street to the restaurant. Its very good and cheap. Becareful and have a great time..

Don't worry about getting to TRC too early. Your room may not be available until 2 or 3, however the bar is open. We are up early anyway and prefer the early flights.

No problem with changing into your suits and starting your vaca until you get your room. We have been lucky and gotten into our room before noon a few times.
