Hi All - I'm sure this question has been asked before. Sorry about that but here it is again. There are 4 of us arriving at the same time June 19th for a weeks stay at Temptation. Been to TTR in Cancun, loved it. Excited to visit Cabo. Since the airport is so close to Temptation, what is the best way to get back and forth from the airport? Taxi or shuttle or is there a bus? I hate messing around with private shuttles and would love tojust jump in a cab but as we have never been to this airport I'm not even sure if thats possible. Which one is cheaper? Would it be tough to get 4 adults and luggage in a cab? If shuttle is best, should be book in advance or wing it at the airport? Thanks so much for your time. Shawn
Transfer usa...or something like that, pick you up and it will only be your party in the van with you and take you straight to TTR, handle your bags, etc, etc, very polite. Pick you up and take you to airport for return trip. I think it cost us $55.00, but well worth the $$$
Take a taxi. The taxis in Cabo are large vans and you will have no problem getting 4 people plus luggage in them. The cost to Temptation was $35 for 4 of us last summer....$25 back to the airport (the extra $10 FROM the airport is a tax). If you want nice, private transportation, I'd use Adrian @ Cielito Lindo ( www.realadventures.com/listings/1198067 ). They have nice private Suburbans with cold drinks. They will also stop at the store if you need anything on the way to the resort.Their rate is $100 roundtrip. Cabo San lucas tours have shared shuttles for $22 pp roundtrip cabosanlucastours.net/Airport-Shuttle.htm. These shuttle will more than likely stop at other resorts on the way to yours. Cabo Nut
A taxi is very quick and will cost $45 for 4 adults and luggage. All of the taxis that I saw were either vans or Tahoe size vehicles. $35 back to the airport. These prices were from earlier this month. I would expect the private transportation to be a little cheaper, however there is no way it could be any faster.
Costs are going up... Checked with the site referenced and they now want $130, the link through the hotel website to a different company is about the same -$120. Looking at a few others from Google search the cost is typically in the $120-130 range for private. That seems sky high for 8 miles! I don't think we want to deal with the hassle of sorting out who is a real cab vs time share fools or the hassle of waiting for the shuttle to fill-up and stop at other hotels. So we will probably go the private route. Cancun was better for getting to the hotel in style and economically.
We did not have any problems with the timeshare people and got a taxi very quickly. Not really an issue. A return taxi is very easy.
the rates here for taxis are a little more than cancun since the drive is so short i would recommend a taxi as it is only a very small portion of your trip and no need to stress over a 15 minute portion of a 7 day vacation at least that is my opinion the benefit over cabo when it comes to this matter is that it only takes about 15 minutes from landing to be in the taxi and on your way to the resort 8 miles away - it has taken us up to three hours from wheels down to Temptation cancun something to consider when comparing everything but no matter what you do - dont waste your time with the time shares - run out the door and get outside of the airport as quick as possible - the time share people are worse in cabo than in cancun trip report in a few days - i have absolutely nothing negative to say about this incredible place NOTHING rob
Awesome glad to hear it! We leave in the AM so if you have anything big from your trip report let us know. BTW- I ended up booking a private transport through the link that Cali rec'd. Angelina was great getting back to me with emails and booking it last minute. I know, it is paying for convenience but worth it for us. They also run less expensive shuttles if you are willing to share which probably isn't that big of a deal to wait on a few other guests and stop at a few hotels, but I'd rather pay more for private and not wait.
so much that i could never list them all its been said many times - a vacation is what you make of it we were fortunate to hang with some awesome people (cancuncare people primarily but about ten non cancuncare people as well) and those awesome people combined with the incredible staff have made our vacation more than we could ever imagined if i could give you any bit of information - it would be this - be social and meet and participate in as much as you possibly can the very best rob
