We are arriving this coming Saturday!! I was wondering if I should anticipate long waits getting through customs.
We have never had a big problem. With that said if multi airlines come in at the same time it could be about a hour. One time we where a head of other airlines and we had everything done in 20 mins. So good luck it is very easy just have everything filled out before touch down and you will be fine. Enjoy your time, we will be there in 15 days!!!! Dan:headbanger::headbanger:
As Ticker79 has said it all depends on how busy the airport is at the time. We've had about a half hour wait the one time as a couple of planes came in at the same time to the time we packed everything in a carry on we walked over to security before they were ready and out the door and on the shuttle leaving the airport in 5 minutes total.
What airline and time? We arrived 19th around 9am local time and were in our transfer van within 30minutes of getting off the plane. Customs was basically a breeze other than us getting the red light.
The key to getting through quick is being quick. We always pay the seating upgrade to get to the front of the plane. And then when we get off we Rush, Rush, Rush. The difference between the front of the plane and rushing compared to the rear of the plane can be 15-30 minutes because you get in front of 100 people or so.
It depends on the season (peak/nonpeak) & day of the week. We found Sat. peak could be up to an hour but on a weekday 30 minutes. Nonpeak month, we fly through customs on a weekday. Coming back home through customs, I always allow 2 hours which has always been perfect timing.
Most times we get through within 30-45 minutes. This year we came in on a Saturday at it took 90 minutes.
