Good Day. This past January 1 week visit had no air conditioning for the first 4 days of trip made for a very angry wife. Have these issues been resolved as looking at 5 day trip in November and don't want angry wife.
We just left the resort Thursday. There are some rooms that are still having issues. The AC in our room never got it cooler than the upper 70's, and I heard a couple others with similar issues. We had friends in the room next to us, and their AC worked great. The other people who had issues asked at the front desk and were switched to rooms with working AC. We stayed in ours because we liked the location, and didn't really plan on spending much time there anyway.
Room mustiness may be my only complaint with TTR. Having stayed at Oasis Sens after TTR the difference was very noticable, being in a decent room.
Our room (1113) was super cold all week. I actually turned it down! I agree with the mustiness comment from above....all of our (even clean) clothes smelled sooooo bad when we got home. It was pretty gross.
Are we the only ones who don't mind the slightly musty smell lol...my suitcase always has that faint smell when we get back and it takes me back to better times...haha
It is the ORIGINAL resort in Cancun...some thing are just accepted as being for what they are. Where else do can go for an 'Adult Spring Break'?
Ali and I have been to 6 or 7 different resorts ranging in from 3 to 5 stars and have also been to Grand Cayman 8 or 9 times and I can honestly say our clothes have that damp smell every time we've gone. It's got nothing to do with cleanliness and everything to do with close to 100% humidity all the time combined with proximity to the ocean. I love opening the drawer that has my board shorts in it as even after several washes that smell is still there and says "sun, sand & party!".
