anyone ever have flts that left cancun at 8:30 -9:00 am? was wondering how busy cancun airport would be and what time to leave resort? we have left late afternoon and always gave it 2-3 hours but was wondering if leaving TTR at 6:30-6:45 for a 8:45 flight would be ok? ps. it would be on a monday thanks for any advice. frank
Your airline should be able to tell you how soon you should be there. Also, the hotel will tell you when to be at the desk for checkout if you used Best Days (for 1), for transfers. They picked us up about 2 hours ahead of time to get back for our return flight and never had a problem.
it should be ok. i just found out that we are the first US airways flight of the day so only people in line will be our flight. :headbanger::headbanger:
I think you will be fine, and there will be no traffic at that time. We always have Brant's pick us up 1:45 before the scheduled departure. I hate to be hungover, and really hate to be hungover in the airport. They will argue that we need 2 hours, but I think 1:30 would be fine also.
biggest harrasment at the airport is the time sales after exiting customs---just say no thank you and continue to the outside to find the tour company or private transportion you have arranged.

We came through there at 10am on our way back to St. Louis a couple of Tues. ago. It was dead in the terminal. But the reason to be there early is the the way the customs agents do their preboarding checks. They setup at your boarding gate and start checking pretty early each person that will board the plane. A very high precentage of people had their carry on baggage completely searched, which took quite a while. So I'd have to vote to be there at your gate at least 1.5 hours before your flight. that will work. im ok with the 1.5 hours. we usually leave on saturday afternoons and it sometimes takes an hour + to just check in. ok to wait at boarding gate as they wont leave until everyone in line there gets boarded and i usually dont take carry ons. frank
We squeeze every moment we can when we stay at TTR so we always leave as late as possible. Going back in February....so ready for our sun in the fun and making new friends!!
Soak up every minute at TTR. Oh Yeah!!! Last year we had to jet to the airport in our bathing suits because someone had to compete in the Ironwoman Contest and we lost track of time in the pool. Next thing you know it was 4:00pm and our flight was at 5:30pm. We made it without any problems. The good part was the hangover did hit us until we arrived home and went straight to bed.
