We're planning a day trip to Playa del Carmen. Has anyone ever taken the ADO bus to Playa del Carmen?
We havent but are planning on doing it on our trip in like 3 weeks..pretty sure you take the bus from in front of TTR to the ADO bus station then connect from there
YES we did a couple of years ago. No problem. spent the day strolling fifth ave shops, bars, beach it was an awesome day! The bus drops you off right in the heart of Playa
We have done it in the past from the airport. Be sure that the stop you get off at is the one at the bottom of 5th Street. The other is the north end of the strip and away from where you want to be. Have stayed in playa twice before for a week each time and loved it.
Yes, it's a great little town. Have been there a few times when we stayed at a nearby resort. I can see on google maps that there's an old and new ADO bus station in Playa DC. Will ask the bus driver...although we "no hablamos español".
When purchasing ticket for return to Cancun be very clear that you want the downtown Cancun bus station and not the airport. I think that since most non locals go to the airport that they tend to assume that us tourists want to go to the airport. The ticket to the airport is higher priced (almost double) than to downtown station so that will flag you to the error. BTW, we have used both ADO and their competitor and found both to be very nice. ADO is pronounced " Ah- day- oh" there.
would love to know more, as we have a trip planned (possibly) over to Mr Sancho's to meet some friends that arrive on a Carnival cruise. Like, where do we catch the bus, get off, how much (if u remember), and the ferry over.
