I read in Por Esto this morning that ADO opened an office in Plaza Caracol so I went to check.
    OK--so here is the scoop.

1.- It is open--located at what I call the back of Plaza Caracol--the north end. If you go in any door on the Riu Cancun side and turn right, you can't miss it. It is at the end next to the restrooms on the first/ground floor. It is office No. 14.

2.- They are open from 9-6.

3.- You can buy any ticket that you can buy downtown to anywhere they go to but only the following buses give service to and from Plaza Caracol:

4.- Plaza Caracol to the Playa del Carmen bus station leave Plaza Caracol at 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

5.- Buses from the Playa del Carmen bus station to Plaza Caracol leave Playa at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for Plaza Caracol.

    6.- Cost: $60 pesos.

7.- They also announced that if you buy an entrance ticket to Xcaret or Xel-Ha, transportation is free.

    8.- Phone: 998-103-8383

Wow, that's handy for us. I wish the schedule was a little more varied but that's still super convenient. Both myself and my aunt/uncle did the ADO from Cancun to Playa + R2 to the HZ (they were staying at one of the 2 RIUs that are side by side.) We definitely would've used that service then and I imagine will use it at some time.

Will they offer one to the airport from the HZ and visa versa?

That is all they are offering FOR RIGHT NOW. If business is good--and the taxi drivers don't run them out--they will expand service to and from the hotel zone I am sure.

Can you imagine what would happen if they offered service to the airport???? Taxi drivers of the world unite! They would/will block the hotel zone in protest. But for now, they must have some pull just to get Cancun/Playa/Cancun without a protest. But then chances are they don't know about it yet. Let's wish them luck. I think it is a great service--like the airport/downtown or airport/Playa service they offer.

Hi, I'm trying to learn more about this ADO bus line. My wife and I will be flying into Cancun airport but will be staying the first half of our week in Playa Del Carmen near 5th street, before coming back to Cancun to TTR the 2nd half. Does the ADO line leave from the airport to PDC? And from PDC are you saying that it could take us to the Plaza Caracol , which I assume is in the HZ of cancun?? We could probably get a taxi from there to get to TTR. That sounds like a good deal then, but need more info to plan my trip.

Thanks, is there a website in English that I can check out ADO bus's pickup locations, times, etc. I found one but it was in Spanish. I would like to board the ADO bus in Playa Del Carmen and take it to Plaza Caracol in Cancun on a Wednesday. I may use it to get from the airport to PDC too when we fly in that previous Sat. However, for our departure day we will likely just take a taxi from TTR back to the airport.

    Thanks!
