So after only coming to TTR for our first time last year we are still planning out out stay for 2013, which truly stinks. I wish we could have booked before we had even left this past year. We seem to have an issue though that we tend to have to base our stay around when the kids have their "spring break". Is it completely effed up that we are already looking at 2014 and noticing that spring break will fall in MID APRIL!!! holy crap are we going to be able to meet the ever famed addicts? Or worse(better) yet will we become one of you looney tunes? What is the farthest out that anyone has tried to start planning their vacation?
We love TTR so much we start talking about when we are going back as soon as we get on the plane to go home. We have been in July and April. Weather is MUCH nicer in April.we are planning on may 15 next year.
Because I am already booking trials in the fall of 2014, I have to block off my calendar for 3 years ahead of when I might want to take a holiday!! Hahaha Karen! Are you a divorce lawyer? I am a commercial litigation paralegal and I know the feeling on having to base vacations around trials...it's not fun! I will never get married and therefore never get divorced - so you shouldn't have to plan around mine

Hey Amber. Nah, I wouldn't touch divorce law...too acrimonious. I do mostly insurance defence work, and some plaintiff work. I'm sorry we won't be swapping war stories in 2 weeks' time! Never say never about marriage...you might meet Mr. Right bellied up to the Sexy Pool swim up bar in a couple of weeks! (but more likely Mr. Right Now ).
I am contemplating taking my first trip to TTR in January. I am newly separated, no choice of my own, and I think I need to let loose and let him keep the kids while I go !!! Should I go with someone or is it ok to go alone ???
I went by myself the first time as a single gal, and it was great! Met lots of amazing people that I have met up with at the resort in my 2nd and 3rd trips (also travelling as a single, but it's very difficult to be alone at TTR)! Now I have to figure out if I want to go in January for 5 days (because I won't have any more time than that), or in the Spring (which I may be able to take a girlfriend with me)... hmmm... You will have fun no matter when you go, but the weather is unreliable in Jan thru mid-Feb. You can get a bit chilly temperatures and rain blowing in and out, or you might get very good weather. The weather is more reliable in March, April, May. March is spring break, so that probably doesn't work for you, and the resort does get some young turds turning up in March even though it is not a "spring break resort". The biggest Cancuncare groups are in April and May, although there is also a smaller regular group the last 10 days of February. I went in April last year, and the weather was PERFECT, and so was the crowd! 5 days is pretty short...you won't want to leave once you get into the swing of the resort. Try for at least 7 days. I like 8-9 days. 14-day trips have been known to be fatal lol. There's only so much abuse a body can take!
