Extent of Covid-19 Deaths Failed to Be Captured by Most Countries

“ In the U.S., Russia, the U.K., the Nether-lands and many other countries, the number of deaths recorded from all causes has jumped since March and far exceeded the number of deaths those countries report as linked to Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.”

This seems to go counter to the claim that deaths in other categories have dropped during the pandemic.

Maybe now honest and accurate death reporting?

But a very significant increase in deaths overall.

Again, maybe accurate reporting and the C-deaths are on top of the “regular” death rate.
Question is how many would have been regular deaths had C not taken them?
Other question is are regular deaths up or down based on yearly cycle?
I expect, unfortunately, that suicides and domestic violence murders are up.
And that “regular” murders are up due to short tempers, folks out of work, etc.

Please no debate on my terms... rename if you like but there was what was normal/regular before Corona and now.
    The “new” normal...for now.

The graph is complete I think in answering your questions. It breaks out the average over 4 years, shows covid19 and it’s clear increase during the pandemic. The article also says other categories have increased as well.

It’s the other categories that increased as well that is interesting.
Is it misclassification, a slight and temporary uptick, or some how related to Covid?
    Interesting.
And again, it is just another article and just more statistics, true or not, and we all know about statistics and how they are and can be used.

And... after your demonstration of nasopharyngeal expertise and coordination, Rayanne clouted you on the back of the head causing you to say, "Ow!"

My only question is, "Why is it the Wall Street Journal" that's reporting this? Just asking. I'd have thought it'd be plastered everywhere as people tried to manipulate the statistics to fit their own perspective.

Most wsj articles are behind a paywall, I’m not sure if you’re also a subscriber and can read the story. Not to cross over into a tangent, but wsj doesn’t sell clicks and advertisements. I find them to be least sensational. From what I can tell they’re not manipulating anything, they even contrast the story with Belgiums reporting which is counter to UK, US etc.

Numbers down here are severely under counted
