This might only be for the Brits but everyone feel free to chip in... I need to do some online banking with Santander, either with their iPhone app on via the web. They've told me that it wont be an issue but i have a giggling worry that once i get out there their security will detect that im half way around the world and block me. Anyone have any experience?
For one of my banks, when we travelled to Amsterdam/Venice/Germany last year from the US, I had to manually set my phone's time back to US Eastern Standard Time. It wouldn't let me login from Amsterdam with the time set to local time (no idea why since I've used it all across timezones from Hawaii to the east coast without a problem). I forget the exact error message it was giving me, but it had to do with the time. First and only time I have ever run into that so it might have been a weird bug in my bank's app and me being 6 hours ahead. Strange indeed, but it worked fine after I changed it.
I have an account with Santander and access it regularly from Mexico. Never had a problem using a PC although haven't tried from my phone.
