So. I just had a thought to invite a good friend and his wife to TTR. But then I got to wondering if the resort is wheelchair accessible. Does anyone have good info?
I would say, not by any means that even closely resemble the U.S. I have a 23 year old who has been in a wheelchair her whole life, so at times we look at things, and wonder how we would ever get around at places with one. I don't know that there is even a way to get from the pool to Bash without using the big ramp (would be a pretty big push) , or stairs. I don't remember seeing an elevator at that level. The pool has no assist devices, and isn't that easy for able bodies to get in and out of really. I was thinking there was a ramp from the lobby to the lobby bar to one side, but don't remember for sure. Lots of U.S. hotels have handicap accessible rooms, wider doors, accessible bathrooms, I don't remember seeing that being an option either.
We have to agree. Yes you could get around so TTR is somewhat "accessible" but certainly not wheel chair friendly. This is especially true with lots of drinking going on. Going up or down that ramp is an effort even when sober. I believe there are some long ways around to use the elevators but may take half a day to go back and forth.
I have also paid some attention to this i do think it would be doable but for the most part it wont be easy,,, it wouldnt stop me from going but i guess that would depend on how handi-capable...
This dude is super handi! But I would feel really at fault if I invite him and he has a difficult time accessing the most fun part like the sexy pool and Boobs Cruise
I don't think there's a way to get from the lobby area to the pool area without the ramp or stairs. However, I've seen plenty of people in wheelchairs at both levels, even saw a guy with a mobility scooter. Staff are happy to help. The Boobs Cruise might be difficult depending on his level of disability. Might be difficult to get on and off, but again our staff are more than willing to help.
I wouldcontact TTR see what they offer to help,, i cant imagine him not enjoying it just going to take a bit more work and thought behind it, even what people call “ handycap friendly “ most of the time really isnt that friendly to the one in the chair but ya learn to deal with it ,,, #1 thing to do is talk to him about it see how he thinks unless you are truely in the situation and his chair you dont know what he can and is willing to do...
