Let me start off by stressing that I am NOT currently an OBAMA SUPPORTER. I am still undecided. I post this not in his defense but because I believe EVERYONE should do their research on candidates and make educated decisions rather than going along with rumors and mud slinging.

I have received multiple emails and bullitin's regarding Obama being a muslim and other stuff. I don't currently know where I stand or if I believe all that is going around though. One email I received said it was all true and verified by Snopes.com (a website which researches the validity of rumors). However, I checked on Snopes.com and this is what I found...

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/muslim.asp

In this article they state the claims made in the email were FALSE.

The only thing I see where they said it was true was that during one particular playing of the National Anthem Obama did not put his right hand over his heart (Though I think the girl singing the National Anthem did more disrespect to the song than he did LOL she was gawd awefull.) Check out this link and you will see the pics and video's of him at this function where he did not put right hand over heart during the National Anthem and you will also hear in the video how this girl butchered it LOL. Also you will see video's where not only did Obama put hand over heart for Pledge of Allegence but he lead the Senate in the Pledge. Check the link below...

I post this not because I'm an Obama supporter as I am still on the fence. But because I believe everyone should do your due diligence and research accusations about the candidates before just going along with the rumors. The choice on who becomes our next president is something none of us should take lightly. I don't care if you like or dislike a candidate but please make your stand based off research and not just what you hear from someone in an email, blog, bulletin, or post.

I agree, as I have also received those emails.

There were a lot of misconceptions, untruths and downright lies floating around about Obama.

I have read his book, Dreams From My Father, to get an incite into his earlier life.

No matter what political party, everyone should be an informed voter!

I agree, everyone should be informed in making their choice. I really suggest a visit to his web site to see his plans for a change.

I hope I'm not on the end of the spectrum that has to pay for his planned changes. However if he changes everything he wants to change we'll be living in a utopia so maybe being broke in a utopia is better than having money in the world today. :D

And maybe he's right. All we have to do is sit down and talk to everyone. We can see the immediate and major impact that Nancy Pelosi had when she went and talked to everyone saying the Bush Administration was done right?

There's an old saying to be careful what you ask for because you just might get it. If you ask for change but don't fully understand what that change is or how it will impact you, you never know what change you might get. Change for change sake is not always a better option.

Vote your heart, and vote for what you want but always know what you are voting for.

Nice post! I'm an independant voter and I agree with you that EVERYONE should do their homework BEFORE deciding on who to vote for.

So many folks just vote a blind ballot for whichever party their parents were and they never actually take the time to sit down and sort out which candidate would actually be the better one. MAKES ME SICK!!

Then you have another bunch who do nothing but spread vicious rumors and lies that they heard someone else spout off about. Too lazy to even attempt to find out if it's true or not......

I have much bigger problems with those types of folks than those who vote for someone I didn't like/care for, but voted based upon actual facts and analysis.

This is probably why I won't vote for him:
"Long before the national media spotlight began to shine on every twist and turn of his life's journey, Barack Obama had this to say about himself: "Junkie. Pothead. That's where I'd been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man. . . . I got high [to] push questions of who I was out of my mind."

Through his book, Obama has become the first potential presidential contender to admit trying cocaine.

Black president, Female president, I am ok with, just not a doper one.

I don't think he should be labeled a "doper"
because he tried drugs in high school and college.

I'm sure we all did things in high school and college that we
certainly wouldn't do as an adult.

Exactly, and besides I appreciate the fact that he is open about this as most politicians would go to GREAT lengths to conceal this kind of information. Did he say anywhere or is there anything that makes us believe he still does any drugs? While I don't condone drug use even for experemintal purposes I do understand that it does happen and we all make mistakes. Besides who are we to judge anyone for past mistakes if the person truely did learn from them and moved on to better themselves. I know I've made mistakes and done things I'm not proud of. You know the old saying "let those without sin cast the first stone".

OK Not my country but here's my opinion, the past is the past and he has been open to most things as far as I am aware so the man should be commended for that, as he has clearly learned from his mistakes and surely as president you want someone who can learn....

My outright opinion is BOLD (Ibelieve he would be a good option) BUT I would put my house on it that HE WILL NOT BECOME PRESIDENT....it will not be allowed...Guarantee it

What do you mean "it will not be allowed"?

    I don't understand that statement.

    Please explain.

    Honestly?

I don't think the USA is going to have an African American as president... I know this again is a bold statement but I have no reason to see it, as here there has never been one here either, What that says about our countries heaven only knows

Again this is not meant to be offensive to anyone...If anyone IS offended I will remove my post...
