Hey Im new to this website. I will be going to GP August 9-16th for our honeymoon! I have put together a list of things I feel like I will need during our stay. Could you maybe tell me if these things are actually needed? Is there any use of tennis shoes? or should i leave these home? We are planning to do 3 activities but are not sure which ones yet. Should I get snorkle equipment? Just for use off the beach at GP. I heard these are rentable? if so, how much? Is it worth it to bring it or just rent? Mosquito spray? heard the bugs are sometimes bad? Watershoes? I kind of have sensitive feet, our driveway is gravel and the rocks really hurt my feet. Not too much problem on sand though. Bring my own mug? From what I have seen on other sites, some people bring these because glasses are "washed half-heartly". and some other people says its nice so you dont always have to get another drink-- Getting up for drink does not bother me and will probably keep me from drinking too much at one time Is there any need to bring our own beach towels? --- Can anyone recommend activities? We dont really wanna go to -Itza place. We are more of hands on then looking. Thinking about doing a zipline, riding 4 wheelers, deep sea fishing etc. Anyone got any insite on these or any others? I had also seen somewhere about horseback riding, which I REALLY want to do. Does GP offer this as an activity? --- We will be bringing plenty of ones to tip with but whats the best way to pay instead of carrying a ton of cash? I was thinking a reloadable debit card? Or if we would be quite a bit of cash, is it okay to leave it in the room? Could we ask the maid not to clean our room that day? Ahh so many questions!! I am so excited for our trip. In two weeks we will be out on the beach laying out in CANCUN! I know I have a ton more questions and hope nobody minds me asking! One last question, kind of a silly one. Is it possible to have sex on those balconies or will you be in plain view of sight. This is the first thing my fiance said when looking at pictures of the hotel
I'll answer what I can! I haven't been to this hotel yet, but I've been to Mexico before at an all-inclusive.
Ill answer what I can. For money, we used cash only. Only time I was worried about it was while traveling. Once there I kept ir all in the in-room safe, and when I needed it I just took out what I needed. Leave your beach towels at home. You each get a card at check in, you use them at the towel hut to get a towel. You get the card back when you turn in your used towel. Just don't lose the card, can't remember how much you have to pay if they get lost. Yes, bring your own hubba mug. 1. Keeps your drinks colder longer 2. Less trips to the bars 3. The cups they usually use are really small. As for the rest, I really can't answer. Only time we went off resort was to go to the little store across the street. P.S. as for the balcony activities, really depends on what floor and what side you are on. We were on the lagoon side on the 6th floor. Even though we didn't do anything, it could probably be done. One tip, there are 2 lights on the balcony, they burn when its dark with no switch, I just unscrewed them for our stay, made the view at night better.
Little Rain I was at the GP in May and am heading back in Nov. You may not need tennis shoes - just depends on what excursions you do. All I wore were flip flops and a pair of black sandles to dinner. If you want to use the gym you may want tennis shoes. I walked barefoot on the beach every day and never wore shoes. I wore sun dresses to dinner and in the evening. You won't need a beach towel. Just be careful-on my last day someone stole my towel when I went up to get a drink. I would keep it in your beach bag til you are ready to use it. I had about $40 ones with me and always carried a few with me. When I used my large insulated cut I tipped the bartenders. I kept others in the room safe and hid the safe key. The lagoon side balcony I had (5th floor) had a half wall at the front so you could lay out there topless or do whatever and not be seen. Check out the November reservation thread - HammieJ answered alot of questions for a first timer there. You will have a great time!!
Yes, 6th floor balconies are private, no one looking down into it. However, there are quite bright lights on both sides of the patio door. My wife and I unscrewed them, and, well, "enjoyed" the darkness....
