Hi All; We are big fans of Tequila and have a couple of favs, but we are hoping to get your opinions on your favorite Tequilas...we are headed to TTR first week of Dec and plan on buying some tequila while there..any sugguestions of what you like and why, and where you'd buy while there? Thanks in advance for your thoughts... See (some of) you very soon... BnL
Not sure about TTR since this is our first trip but I am bringing a bottle of Maestro Dobel with me. I know you can buy just about any brand at the duty free at the airport. Will
Not sure if they still have it but there was a tequila I have bought at the liquor store across the street which tasted like amaretto somewhat. Very good, but very dangerous lol. Also there is a pretty good selection of brands at Wal-Mart as well as another liquor store near there. Finally I have bought a couple bottles at a small store in Market 28. Can't remember the details, I was drinking after all!
My favorite tequila that you can only get in Mexico is Aha Toro. You can even pick up a bottle at the airport on your way out to the roadside pickup. They have a couple of brands but my favorite is the Blue bottle which is meant more for shooting and not drinks.
daily "table" wine type tequila: El Jimador Reposado for special occasions: cabo wabo reposado don julio 1942
Tres Generaciones Anejo for shots is my favorite. We always bring back a bottle or three for the bar at home. Our friends at home cannot believe how smooth this stuff is.
always pickup some hornitos (white and/or reposado) at the airport on the way in. It's nice to have a few bottles in the room to pregame with friends. Pregame before dinner, pregame before theme nights, pregame before getting a tan, pregame before...you get the picture.:icon_wink:
Reposado Corralej, Nickname "The Big Blue Dick", is a great Shot Tequila. Available at WalMart in 750 ml and 1 ltr. bottles quite cheap!
....thanks for all the great suggestions....some of the tequilas mentioned we are already fans of, but theres a few new ones here we will need to try... And tequila as a 'pregame' drink...? You betcha!
