A question about basic cable...

My landlord provides basic cable included in the rent. I have no cable box, so this might be an under-the-table arrangement. I haven't asked.

As of last night, a channel I occasionally watch has vaporized. It was on basic cable channel 43, and is called "The American Network". Various shows are on it, but most importantly The CBS Evening News. Last night it appeared to have problems (it showed a SKY TV menu screen), and today - well, I am not sure what it is, but it isn't what it was.

Anybody familiar with this channel, and where it might now be?

The problem might be with the cable providers, i guess the provider is Cablemas, as they are are used to move the channels all the time without prior notice.

That channel still works for me..The American network on Ch. 43

 

Thanks Tori. My channel is still there, and it is called American Network still, but the programming is all local talk, etc. Are you seeing different programming?

I think Tori is confused.

Mine is the same. I watched normal programming on there Sunday night, but by Monday it was all Spanish programming. No more CBS News, 60 minutes, etc.

Have not tried to find it on another channel yet. Fingers crossed.....

 

Well, ya'll must have jinxed me as it's really the only channel I watch and it was regular programming this morning. I now turn on the TV and it's what you say. I know that last night I watched Oprah... Had the Early show this AM...now blaaaaaah!!!!!! DAMN IT!!!!

My one TV with the digital box allowed me to watch AN up until about 6 this evening.... Now, same as all my other TVs w/out the box!!

American Network

Hola,
Just switched on the tv and we now have American Network. I am so happy about this. Hopefully will be able to watch the Royal Wedding in 2 weeks time.

 

Woohoo! I just returned from Holbox and found the channel is back. Thanks to all who commented.

 

Without the box there are a limited number of channels available. With the box you get a jillion but Cablemas (See the thread titled Speaking of Cablemas) screws with us big time.

As to 43, it was a different channel number on the new box but I don't remember the number. But others with the new box said the American Network went away. However, I was just going to post at the other thread that while flipping channels I found the American Network on 233. It had an English version of The Doctors playing but now it seems to be Medium is playing at 5:22 pm.
