First let me say I am so sorry we didnt get to meet up this trip Steve we had a few bumps in the road and decided to relax and stay at resort more then we normally do.

Ok to what happened at Market 28 Two years ago we brung our two children to Cancun with us. Most knows our youngest son is handicap and back then he was still in his "special stroller chair* like a wheel chair but more portable* He also can't see and has autism. anyways when we was there last time we took the kids to Market 28 to see if they could find anything they wanted. We found some kissing pigs and Dallas LOVED them. Honestly they was his fav thing ever. They broke shortly after we got home and he would still ask for them and get sad when we explained they was broke.

When we was there last time we had spent a good amount of time talking to the shop owner about just life in general(his life and our life etc) and he just loved Dallas.

we decided we would try to go back and find the kissing pigs this trip.We have NEVER seen them anywhere but his shop ( and have looked )

So we head down to the Market and go to look for his shop first and found it( LOL we was shocked did not know if we could remember exactly where it was at in the Market)

Skip was looking around the shop when the Shop owner approached him and asked him if he needed help. Skip looked up and said yes I am looking for some kissing pigs I bought here two years ago. The shop owner looked right at skip and with out skipping a beat said. Hi! How is Dallas doing? About blew us over!! He spoke to him about Dallas for awhile and asked how he was doing and his family etc and he said can you come back tomorrow? We knew it would be our last full day but told him we would.

We came back the next day and not only did he have 1 set of pigs not 2 sets or 3 sets or 4 sets but 5 full sets of them for Dallas! He gave us a very nice price and we made sure to do some more shopping in his shop( and he gave us good deals on them also).

We got to record him with our camcorder saying Hi to Dallas so Dallas could hear it when we got back home.

We had a few things go wrong this trip and was fighting a blah feeling and this really made our trip. I cant explain how special this was for us as parents to Dallas. For him to not only remember Dallas but to remember us and get excited to hear about our children. He did not pressure us to shop and it was like meeting up with a old friend.

When we went down there to find the pigs we figured it would be a lost cause and then when the shop owner said he no longer sold them we was disappointed so for him to go out of his way to find them for Dallas and to bring them back the next day warmed our hearts greatly.

He told us how he would never forget our Dallas and how he hopes we bring him back to see him soon. Skip and I are just so shocked he remembered us!! We figured we was just another person that had shopped at his shop but he made us feel like family and that will always stay with us.

Matter of fact he was not the only person that remembered us it just really felt great for us to be "at our other home".

We hope to beable to go back again in a few years with all children ( I wont be going back until we can go back with all 6 of our kids now, although our two biological children have been once I want our adoptive children to also see what we love about the area"

anyways I just wanted to share how this one shop owner made us feel so special and remind us how special Cancun really is even when things go wrong there.

Here is a picture of the shop owner if your ever in the Market besure to stop in and look around.

Great story Katrina. An amazing person there that cares about more than the sale. Wishing him and his family many blessings.

Shame we didnt get to meet up this time. Hope you had a great trip despite the 'bumps'.

    Nice story.

Always amazes me how Mexicans have such a great memory. Reminds me of the time I took my Dad to a hotel he'd stayed at 2 years previously for a week. As he approached the bar, the bartender said "Welcome back Alan, Gin and Tonic as usual?"

From our first trip to Cancun till the next time we went was about 8 years and the doorman from our hotel and the waiter at our favorite restuarant (El Pescadors) remembered us. It really amazed me with all of the people that they deal with daily that they would remember that we had been there before.

And they did remember where we lived, so it wasnt them just being friendly or looking for tip money.
