Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do? Seriously, 7hr in an airport is heinous. Normally, we would be happy drinking the time away but going through customs hammered might not be a good...
"How to Make the Most of a Long Layover" How to Make the Most of a Long Layover Personally, I'd try to do things I tend to always put off, like organizing the 4000+ photos on my iPhone.
Upgrade your flight to either direct or shorter layover at different airport. After our first year we like to atleast get a direct flight there, if we have to a stopover on way home, so you can sober up.
Our first time we had an 11 hour over night lay over in Mexico City. It was rough. If you wait till 24 hrs out its only $65 or so to change flights.
Gone are the days where we'd leave Des Moines and be in Cancun by 12:30/1pm. Now everything is +1day or evening unless you spend extra $500 a ticket. Spending $2k on a weekend trip just isn't an option for us. We have skipped TTR a few years for this reason. Pvr and Cozumel are cheaper and better flights. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Like I said call your airline when your less than 24hrs out. They will put you on a better flight for cheap if there are seats open.
That's one of the things I'm thankful for coming from Canada it's all direct flights. May pay a little more for that but for me it's worth it. We did find a cheaper flight out of Buffalo ( would have saved about $150 total ) the one year, and thought seriously about booking it until we saw the itinerary leave Buffalo fly to Chicago the to St Louis and finally into Cancun. Which would have been fine if we got off one plane then onto the other and so on. But there was a 2 hour layover in Chicago and another 2 or 3 in St Louis so about 5 hours of our day would be sitting in airports and it was like a 12 hour day to get to Cancun when we can fly directly there in about 4 hours time. And we usually take the earliest flight out we can so we have lunch at the resort. So yeah as nice as it is to put the $150 in our pocket time on the resort is what we want.
Have you try to drive to another city and get better flights / connection The other thing book as a lay over at any city and just book a hotel and stay over night and do some kinky stuff and start your vacation
Just saw this and not sure if you were there right then, but there is a Mall and Movie theater right down on Beltway 8/59. Easy cab ride. Also lots a good restraunts in that mall area as well. Sorry for the late reply.
