Looking for some advice... Husband I are planning a vacation/honeymoon we never had to Mexico. We were first set on the ABR in the Riviera Maya but it just seems very far away from everything. That's the only downfall we have come up with and love everything else (excpet no swim up bar for me...). Then we thought TTR would be a nice chance to break out of this reserved shell I have (my husband does not). But as much as I have posted about TTR, it seems like unless you are a regular there and already have connections and going the dates of a Boobs Cruise, noones interested in giving any information. That being said, we are thinking about doing a 5 Apple Square deal and taking our chances in the Riviera Maya.

Anyone been to any of these hotels??? Can you offer advice on whats good bad and otherwise??? 5 Apple Dealers - what hotels are you typically placed in? Is TTR welcoming to new people? Is Akumal Beach Resort really so far out of the way that we will be stuck there the whole trip?

    PLEASE HELP!!!!!:mermaid:

Reviews and reports say the ABR is 2-3 star...definitely not an upscale kind of place.....take a look at Loco Gringo for reports/reviews....lots of people there that love the ABR...and those that want more upscale. We did a 6 Apple Square Deal 5 years ago this month, and stayed at Secrets Capri....it was the Jan/Feb after Hurricane Wilma trashed Cancun, so travel was way down....thus they offered deals to get people in the hotels...and we are doing the same thing on Jan 29, a 6 Apple Square Deal, don't know where we will be staying, but it will be a very nice place...I think there is a thread on Trip Advisor about square deals and where people stay
I can't speak of TTR, heard some good things, some not so good.....it's up to you guys....have a great trip, and write about it when you get home!:bandit::flagireland:

The more we look into it, TTR is not for us. Im very reserved and as much as I want a chance to not be in "mommy mode" and break out of my shell, that just might be too much for me. The ABR is kinda our style. Not upscale, more laid back and peaceful. At least with ABR I know what we're getting. I looked into the 5 apple deals and alot of people said they went to Blue Bay Esmerelda or the Occidental... and they both seemed to have more bad, or just as equal bad, than good. That worries me. I'd love to do the 6 Apple deal but thats just not in our budget right now. I'll keep you update on what we decide. Hope you have an amazing trip. Hope to see lots of pics when you get back.

    6 Apple Deal

Where can I find information about the 6 Apple Deal? We are heading to TTR Cancun in June (a real break from being a mommy and fun!) but heading to PDC to the Riu Yucatan in August with our 3 older kids...looking for a super great deal.....any help would be appreciated. We live on the West Coast, so airfare is expensive, but this return trip is worth every dime!:3some:

well I'm not sure about the apple thing but I can say I've been to mexico soooo many times I can tour people LOL, the riviera is nice but yes it's secluded. For a price you can get anywhere though. We have stayed at temptations 6 times and we keep going back not because its 5 star but because it's fun. All adult and fun.
