There will be a 5, 10K run on the runway at the Cancun airport, as part of the celebration of the opening of the new runway. Officially referred to as the 5km y 10km Levantemos Vuelo Aeropuerto de Cancun, the races will be on Oct 10, starting at 7 AM. Early arrival is encouraged. (It appears access to the runway may be restricted, runners only.) For those who wish to register, you can do so, online, at- http://www.emociondeportiva.com/base.asp It also appears you can register in person at the Pro Shop, Sports City; and, at Deportes Marti. The entry fee is 200 pesos. Trophies will be awarded. Anyone age 15 and above can compete in the main events; and, there will be special races of lesser distances for younger children down to age six.
