My wife and I just got back today from our 4th trip to TTR. We have gone 3 times during the end of Feb. This was by far the less exciting of any of the trips. It wasn't the usual party crowd. The crowd was an even mix of 21-80 yr olds. Every body type, every nationality. People were not as friendly and tended to stay in their own groups. The activities were the exact same and it took a lot to get people involved. The staff are trying to make it fun but have no interaction with the guests, which use to be half the fun. One of the veteran staff members cries like a little schoolgirl when people wont join the games and threatens to stop the activity all together. More interaction is needed outside the games to help build relationships with the staff members. The food was the best it has ever been there. I did not have a bad meal the whole week we were there. We are premier members. Yesterday we were sitting in the premier deck area. I tipped the long time waiter 50 pesos for my first drink as we sat watching the sexy pool, half hour later my drink was empty and he walked by twice in the next hour. He would look at me, look at the empty drink, and then walk by looking away from me. I will never tip this particular waiter again as I have had the same issue each time we are there and I tip every drink. If you are considering a premier membership I would second guess it. When TTR gets your money they no longer care and you will receive less service. Red bracelets get better service because they want your money. Less than impressed. The music at Patty O sucks. It is the exact same beat on every song and it will forever be engrained into your mind..boom boom boom. Different genres would be appreciated. The best night was karaoke night. Different music and a live band that sang a lot of rock and roll. Good times. Nice shoes was typically half full except for lingerie night. They actually let a few in that weren't in lingerie. All in all TTR has gone down hill from our first trip and I think we will be taking a break for a year.
I {jeff} totally agree with you ,except about the food , same menu for at least 7 years I mean come on ! and I know exactly who you are talking about re ent staff to busy taking selfies to talk to guests. and I know the bar tender you are talking about ,.... you know when they duck down behind the bar and count the money ? you are right about being a member you get treated worse ! the only good thing about being a member is the price fix ....or is it really ? kinda locked in to ttr and it is totally falling apart ...been there 15 times so I see it !!!
re Premier Waiters ,, totally agree,, I never had to get my drinks with the red Band, ( except at lunch ) ,, on the upper deck we saw them ( Premier waiters ) once in the mornings to collect tips . Some days were worse then others. At least the Crown was good . This is the third or forth comment this week about bad music ,, so it must be true I do love going in April, and Halloween , they have huge followings and always familiar faces and the sex is good . Less then 50 days till we test the waters again .
just saying you invest in nothing , and the music sucks ,I mean if your there a week or more and it repeats it's self ya got a prob ,how hard is it to make a list of tunes that would play with out repeating everyday ???
My phone is better then most of their DJ,s . Speaking of music , there is a lot of good Latino Dance music out there, I wish they would play more of it. ( I know the Americans don't like it )
Good call on the Latin dance music! So easy to dance to and sexy. Throw some into the mix! And we too get tired of a DJ who plays what is essentially the same damn song one after another for nights on end. Why not mix it up? Play a little of everything! If we wanted to go to CoCo Bongos to hear that stuff and nothing else we would. You are also right most of us have a better song set list on our phone.
Have to agree on the vibe change . We arrived on the 16th Tuesday (couples theme) participation was good on all the nights until the Sat/Sun when the crowd seemed to totally change . Theme participation dwindled ...most people dressed like they were going to a bahmitzpha (crappy spelling) than a theme dance party . And where they get these Techno/I-phone DJs from I have no idea . FIRST RULE OF BEING A DJ ......IF NO ONE IS DANCING CHANGE IT UP FFS!!!!!!!! Several times my wife who loves to dance asked him to stop playing the techno versions of everything and his answer was "I'm not playing techno". Even though all the videos of the tracks said dance mix or techno version etc on the screen . DJs TOTALLY F$&@?ing CLUELESS OF HOW TO KEEP THE PARTY HOPPING ?????
On the music point I think people get confused when it is called 'techno'. I it more of a club mish mash where they mix together (horribly) parts of songs. It doesn't provide for any flow, no smooth transitions. When I hear someone say techno I think oh good maybe they changed the music. But then when described further it sounds like the same mish mash they have always done It really would not take too much effort to fix which is the frustrating part. I really think they think they are doing what appeals to the majority which is why they stick to the same approach.
We are going in May for our 2nd time . We had a blast last year hopefully this year is as good . Getting a little nervous that we won't have as much fun as we did then
This is what they were doing and it doesn't appeal to the majority . Most people there would like to hear the original versions of the songs they like , that could be top forty or songs from their particular generation 80s R&R etc The mish mash hip hop bee bop boom boom techno shit doesn't cut it with 90% of the crowd . TTR just doesn't seem to get it ....Guess the DJ works for room board and all the crappy Corona he can drink and they are happy with that ? :flash::69::daveandmo:
