We just got our Temptation suitcase from storage and start going thru and adding stuff that we have been collecting since our last trip and our trip is not even scheduled until march
I am already packing and I don't arrive until Dec 3rd but after two previous trips to TTR I know it takes me a while to get just the right stuff in the bags and then take out all the extra crap I know I will not need. But I have been gathering up items from around the house as I am packing them up from either summer or our family trip to Cuba. Also been shopping for the Chaos Crew theme nights as Halloween is a great time to find stuff for your outfits. I also bought a new lighter weight carry on as Sunwings weighed all of the carry on luggage on the way to Cuba which was a real pain in the ass as the limit is only 5 kg and apparently my previous carry on bag weighed 2.8 kg.
I've been packing for weeks already. As my new purchases come in, they get modeled for Mr. C, then in to the suitcase. I'm really hoping to get everything in carry-on's this year. I think I could do it, if it wasn't for the shoes. I love my shoes!!!
I pack the night before we leave, it drives the wife nuts. She's planning and organizing the whole week before. She then goes crazy when I forget my sandals, belts or swimming trunks. I feel it's now a tradition to go shopping in Edmonton before we leave and it's a good way to get some new clothes/shoes.
I pack the night before...but I do make a list. It takes about 15 minutes to complete. I've gotten pretty good at it.
It's crazy how everyone can pack so early. I guess I should stop busting Elyse's stones when she makes her 50+ item list and starts getting things ready a few days before. I generally pack for 15-30 minutes about at 12am the night before an early flight. I never forget anything, but for 6 years I traveled for work often, so maybe I just have my system down. I would go nuts just staring at a half filled suitcase for months before. (Even though that is pretty much the same stupid thing I do by coming to this board long before a trip) Another question though is when do you pack your suitcase leaving Temptation? For me it is about a 15 minute frenzied process, half drunk, right before the van comes to take us back to the hell that is called reality.
It is bad enough to look at the full suitcase for months AFTER! I really hate unpacking from our trips there, so depressing!
I swear half a suitcase is shoes, and she still never brings comfy flats for dancing all night. The suitcases come out this weekend! Things have been collecting for a few weeks. 6 days to go
