Our friends just got back and they said they were offered an invite to try Desire Pearl for their last 3 nights due to an overbooking, but they were having so much fun at TTR they decided no to. Does this happen often during the busy times is what we would like to know.

I'm glad you posted this because reading through this thread I was getting grumpy. We booked through an agent on Feb 19 for our trip in late April. Direct flights to and from Kelowna with good timing, 7 nights ocean view room, transfers, plus tax came to $3275 Canuck bucks.

Good or bad, once we hit the pool we won't care.

So far it Looks like we will book through Alpharooms and book Westjet seperately, even with Paying in US money for Alpharooms it is the cheapest, but Might have to shorten our trip to 12 nights from 14, price Comes in at around $3500 total with hotel and direct flight from Toronto.

GOV sounds like a retirement home compared to TTR.
They might steal away the dozen TTR customers that hang out at the quiet pool.:ernaehrung005:

I think pricing has been a super bargain over the past few years, for the great fun TTR provides. I feel TTR has offered these great prices to keep the resort at capacity and fun. When new guests arrive, they are overwhelmed with the party and topless galz at the sexy pool. Lots of these guests buy into the membership offered by TTR. This is where TTR makes their money. After many years of selling memberships, TTR is at capacity with their own members. Suddenly TTR does not need to discount guests. In fact they can now start raising fees if you would like to join the members and all there fun. Not sure if this is the reason, but it certainly makes sense.

Yes but you can't charge 5* prices for a 3 * resort despite the great atmosphere

You think TTR charges 5 star prices? The five star resorts I have been to charged way more than TTR, including ones in Mexico.

We are torn on what to do for April if we decide to book... Over a $600.00 price difference between TTR and GOV for 7 days. The reviews for GOV seem to be getting better each week. Not sure if it's enough to change our minds but the $600.00 difference might be...
