BTW what's everyone's opinion about airlines charging you for 'whole' weight, not luggage weight? Even as a large lady, I still think that it's right to charge by 'whole' weight. There should be a set limit that is, say, 10lbs over the average weight that a male at 7 foot should weigh, then anyone over that should pay excess 'baggage' for being a larger size. We have to pay through the nose on excess luggage weight, what's the difference between that and being overweight? Being big myself, I would personally have to pay a fortune if they brought in this system, but in fairness I see it makes logical sense. We pay for electricity per unit we use, why not pay for airline fuel per unit we 'use'?
Let's face it Trish, the whole system is skewed. Like you said I can have my hold luggage overweight, unpack it and put it into my hand luggage, which, if overweight I can wear, put in my pockets, whatever, it's still on the plane!! But imagine the "human rights" issues if airlines did start to charge by human weight! All the overweight, overly tall would be kicking off right left and centre, and does this mean kids and short people get to fly on the cheap? Crazy. :daisy:
I don't know about that whole weight idea thing. Lots of the gals at TTR would have to pay a small fortune due to those breast "enchancements"
FYI. We contact. To our provider.( us cellular. ) said everything. Will work..this was our. Forth. Trip.this time our phones didn't. Work at all..that was very frustrating ..if I were u guys I ll brig the phone in case of emergency .. have fun.
This was the first time in 5 trips our phone work. No text or Internet but could call and receive calls. There are server pay phones around the resort that you can use calling cards which is probably the best deal but it was good having our phone work
We have 3 kids and brought our phones. The thing is that you have to use your best judgement also. Think of a couple of things. 1. How old are your kids and how "sick" will they be without hearing from you, or you without hearing from them. 2. Are you going outside of the resort? You will want your phone as an emergency contact point just in case. Both of these are not necessary but are that one lil extra piece of mind. Like I was saying we brought our phone and have 3 kids and had a major amount of family medical problems going on at the time. Call before to find out your plan coverage and pricing. We found it better to use limited texts to keep in contact or get simple updates on health issues without it being an infringement on our vacation. We used the same idea for the kids and information. We let them know we would give a simple update here and there via text and in those text we'd let them know a date we were going to call. Turns out we only had to call once. Sometimes all that they/you need is to "feel" connected.
My phone wouldn't work when we got there so we bought a 20 minute phone card for $12. Had to use the payphones but it worked fine to check in at home each day. We left the resort contact number at home in case of an emergency.
I (Chris) don't know about charging people for their body weight but I wonder if they should pay more when they cannot fit into the seats. One flight with a larger person half in my seat convinced me that there should maybe be larger seats that could be purchased by those people who cannot fit in the standard size seats.
Thanks! Were you charged differently for texts? I could make that work. Our boys are 4,5,5,6 but I trust my mother with them, just would like that piece of mind.
I'll check with our airline. I believe we are flying American Airlines. Express check in huh? When should I do this, and what information do I need for it?
