Chichen Itza private tour setup - btwn March 27-April 1st,2013; looking 4 others

Having seen Sultryfox post about the same thing it very much interested us. So in their fashion and wise words we are setting up the same idea for March/April 2013. We love the resort and last year we only left for heading to Isla to swim with the dolphins and then on the Boobs Cruise. This year we are doing the Boobs Cruise but also like the idea of heading out to see 1 other attraction as well. So here is some of the ideas that Sultry fox presented that we took into consideration and would like to see if we could get others to join in with us!

We will be at TTR from March 26th-April 2nd and would like to see if there are others out there that have overlapping dates that would like to join in booking a private tour to Chichen Itza with us. We would wait until the Boobs Cruise dates for that week are announced to finalize the tour date.

Please post if you would be interested, and also include the dates you will be in Cancun (full days). While we are open to the 26th, that is our first full day and would probably not want to be gone all day - but let's see how this plays out.

I would also be open to stopping to get some tequila unique to that region, but again, am not interested in a large group where every stop takes over an hour just unloading and loading the bus - would love to go with Cancuncare friends, have some drinks on the way and maybe purchase an add on to take a dip in cenote Ik Kil to swim in the fresh waters!!

 

Big74mac, have you guys been there before? either way would you be interested in heading there with us? On Sultryfox's thread Steve put down a link with all of the bonuses by going it together with people from TTR and booking a private tour rather than a public one. But the more people that join in the cheaper it gets and having a load of TTR people would not just be fun... it would be EPIC!

 

oh come on someone has to be kind of interested? Has anyone in the been there and is it worth it or do you want to make it worth it?

We did this .It was well worth it. We leap frogged past tour buses as they took people to tourist traps. The driver brought a cooler and we stopped at walmart for some booze,water and munchies. Steve helped us arrange the van thru USA tours. He was very helpful and would reccomend his help. We did 4 couples. That made it 77/ person and we went splits on the tour guide at the Cichen Itza. Also well worth the 10 bucks each.

 

So did you just pay USA at the time of departure or did you have to prepay and how much time did you get at Chichen Itza before the craziness of he major tours got there?

 

oh yeah and now that Steve has set the cruise dates for March how does the dates of either the 26th or the 28th-April 1st look? Anyone game?

 

We arranged it on Steves phone with him. I gave them my credit card info, they did not charge it. We paid the driver before we left the hotel parking lot. We were there for 2hrs ish. Not rushed and everyone had seen all they wanted. We did the cenote and lunch and got there about 1/2 hr 45 min before buses started to roll in.
