First time to Temptations and a few questions! We are coming in April with a few other couples. What do we need as non-typical extras? Insulated mugs, etc? Looks like standard rooms are around $270/night, is that average? Steve has a website in his Temptation Hotel Deals called www.alpharooms.com that is quite a bit less. Looks like it is based in the UK, has anyone used it? Does a person upgrade to an ocean view room or is it a complete waste? Hope the food is good, looks like too many typical bar food/american choices for a mexican resort. This place must be fun to have such repeat visitiors and this great forum!
when are you comeing in? I've been 2 times going back in april for trip3 both times had a ocean view on the top floor overlooking the active pool. worth it if you want a nice view but getting up all the stairs after a fun filled night can be a proplem lol. The food isn't bad at all, i enjoyed eating in every restraunt But what really makes the place is the people and staff, everyone is just haveing fun and i would say thats the biggest reason many ppl keep comeing back.
Alpharooms is good to use. Lots of people here, including myself, have used them in the past with no problems. Just make sure you let your CC company know that you'll be making an overseas purchase. Jamie
People get the insulated mugs to save trips to the bar to refill the small glasses. Ocean room upgrades are not really worth it. You don't spend that much time in the room and "Ocean View" Means that if you can keep one foot on your balcony/padio and lean out far enough to see blue, it's "Ocean View". Food for some is excellent, some seem to starve while there. Me? Between the booze and food I gain a pound a day. And yes, this is the place to vacation! You will get hooked and never want to go anywhere again. Jamie
Thanks for the help and responses. I cant believe ALPHAROOMS would save me almost $80/day vs booking direct? Seems too good to be true. Now my problem is I already booked direct and not sure I can cancel it and book with Alpharooms.com
When you booked with ALPHAROOMS did you get a solid reply? Seems they dont have a great reputation online?
One more question (hopefully!). Whats the best way to get there from airport for 6? Just hire a taxi?
Alpharooms is awesome! Make sure you go through this site to alpharooms that way Steve get's credit! Also, through this website use USA Transfers they'll transfer your whole group and it's a direct to the resort from the airport. You'll really enjoy yourself at TTR have a great time!!
I haven't used Alpharooms, but saw tons of people post great things about them on here. We used Expedia, and it was still much cheaper than the resort direct. Expedia included airfare, Alpharooms did not so that it what made the sale for us. It also made it better cost wise once we figured in forgien transaction fee. I agree with USA Transfers. This will be our first time to TTR but 3rd to Cancun. The first time we did not use USA and used another one of the many companies that will be hanging around the airport...AVOID THEM!!! It was not that much better on cost to go with the ones outside and the more people you have the cheaper it makes USA Transfers. The ones outside take a lot of people to many different hotels. We had to wait for them to fill the van up and then wait to go to our hotel (which was almost last). It was like an extra 2 hours or so that we could have been at the resort. We used USA Transfers last year, and it was much better. They had a sign with our name (so avoid all the sales people and go right to them). The guy called our van right away and even gave us some water. We went straight to our resort and then they sent a car that was again just us to take us straight to the airport. The guys were very friendly and very helpful.
