On our last night at the resort, just after the Patty O Lounge had closed for the night, my girlfriend went to use the women's section of the quasi-unisex washroom in the hotel lobby and 3 men attempted to rape her. One man had hidden in a women's bathroom stall when she walked in, and she was followed by 2 other men who held her in the stall. She is very tenacious and was able to fight her way, by relentlessly kicking and punching, from suffering a more serious assault. She was extremely traumatized, and we left the resort the next morning without mentioning this assault to the staff.

 

Why would you not mention it to the resort?? What happened that they felt the need to leave, not even mentioning the incident? Not only does it devalue the plausability, but they left it open for other women to potentially suffer the same experience!

To be fair the guy sounds genuine in the review, but they should have definitely reported it straight away. The culprits could have been found and thrown out!

 

Sorry to hear. Thanks for the update, my wife and I often separate and I often let her go to the bathroom alone. Thanks to this update I will be sure to escort her.

 

this is from trip advisor which is notorius for complete bull shit....while its certainly possible such a thing COULD happen....i guess it COULD happen anywhere.....i dont place any faith whatsoever in its truthfullness.

people its trip advisor...half of it is bullshit and half of it is honest but there is no way to tell which is which. Its like trusting TMZ for your sociology education.

 

If it did happen it would be interesting to know if the perpretrators of this assault were local or people holidaying at the resort. If true does it not need addressing and could a complaint not be made now you have left the resort?

 

Sounds like bullshit to me too - Was probably posted from an irate guest that perhaps couldn't get what he/she wanted either, knowing full well that TTR management reads these posts!

 

This story is full of holes. The main washrooms are near the front lobby and the other one near main pool. Even in the wei hours there's lots of traffic,, not an ideal spot to arrange an attempted rape . Unless she's super woman any woman would have a hard time fighting off 3 guys.

bullshit! Attempted to rape her but she's so tenacious she fought off 3 guys? I'm a big guy n if 3 guys cornered me it would be hard to get away myself. They probably made some sexual comments to her n she blew it out of proportions. That's my take on it

 

And, if this was an actual happening, then perhaps a bathroom buddy would be in order, hey? :deadhorse:
