well folks ... what to say being back to rainy cold and winterly good ole germany after having spend a week at TTR ? the logical and wise answer may be worked out properly as conclusion at the end of SHARKIES TR ! here we go! 1) PREAMBLE first of all thanks to AIR FRANCE for bringing us well into and (much MORE :icon_smile: :icon_biggrin::headbanger:!!) back from CANCUN ! all 5 flights (to/from) have been in time and the service on board had been great. at our last stop over in PARIS CHARLES DE GAULE we very much enjoyed your FITNESS PROGRAM called "CHANGE TERMINALS QUICKLY" which surely qualified us to the next PARIS MARATHON (is there any ???) .. at least we lost some pounds which we gained at TTR. secondly ... (and absolutly valuable as the point above!) ... thanks to CANCUNCARE and all it"s so active boardmembers for giving so many good points, hints, tipps, reports ..whatever .... which helped a lot to get into it! GREAT COMMUNITY! :xyxthumbs::bowdown::xyxthumbs: finally ... SISTER IN LAW ... thanks for this reCCCommendation ! 2) FACTS (subjective.... but .... can facts be subjective ?? ... :huh: ... ) took the USA TRANSFER as recomended here: :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: so we arrived after 18 hours travel time and check in was quick as we did use their ONLINE EXPRESS CHECK IN xyxthumbs. this did not hinder them to give us room 2223 with nice overlook of PATY"O .... :banghead: ... not the place we wanted to sleep ! anycase and after third attempts we got changed to a much more silent room next day ... :xyxthumbs: :xyxthumbs our room was absolutely PICOBELLO , clean and nice. our maid ALBA did great job to bring back in shape for the rest of our stay ... day by day !! :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: as the room ..... we found the entire TTR well maintained, clean, safe and in its construction with the max 3 floor architecture and all the difference angles, promenades and perspectives very fascinating. to step out of the room and to have beach, pool, lobby, buffet within a 50 m ( abt 55 yards :huh: ) distance walk is more than comfortable! :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: ok we had to eat ... but with PLEASURE ! breakfast at the BUFFET : :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: lunch at the MARGHERITTAS : :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: lunch at the BUFFET : :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: dinner at the MARGHERITTAS: :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: dinner at the SEA-FOOD : :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: dinner at the ITALIAN : :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: dinner at the BUFFET : :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: dinner at the ASIAN : :xyxthumbs::huh: .. was not that good well ... with all that good FOOD we had to DRINK ... and here is the vote from the GERMANY: :ernaehrung024::daveandmo::beer4: :beer4::xyxthumbs::ernaehrung015::beer4::daveandmo::daveandmo::aktion033::aktion033: THE STAFF of TTR ...well thank you all WAITERS, MAIDS, SECURITIES, GREENKEEPERS, BARKEEPERS, OPERATORS, TECHNICIANS, COOKS, ENTERTAINERS, DJ'S, RECEPTIONS and every one else who worked so hard to make this week so enyojable !! (hope we did tipp enough :aktion014: ) finally comming down to the BASIC ... (don"t get us wrong .. the above mentioned points are basic very much too!) .... but the real BASIC are you FOLKS :mexicoflag: :usa1::flagcanada: :flaguk: .... we very much enyojed the easy , open and so friendly way of being among you. :xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs::xyxthumbs: looking back ... we are a bit sorrowful for having been probably too shy but ... NEXT TIME WE WON"T !! :aktion030::aktion030::aktion030::aktion030: greetings to JESSE (hope you gonna wear the skull&crossbone shirt with pleasure !) , SUE, CRAIG, (get this bloody pipeline built up!) Haha, yeah that could be it Surprised there aren't any direct flights though. It shouldn't take any longer than from the UK which is 11 hrs if flying direct, and there's 3-5 direct flights a day from the UK in peak season. Brits and Germans visit the same kind of places in Europe for holidays, and Germany has a larger population. Just something that struck me as strange. What do you think Sharkies?

well steve ... to be honest ... we enjoyed not having met to much germans ... except BERND (the beer contest winner) and his fellow! ok... we are going to about talk TTR ... but only at a very inner circle! somehow we have to protect our new discovery ... hope you don"t mind ... but take it youi know how ugly germans can comming with a crowd ! cheers!
there are direct flights with german charter operators "AIR BERLIN" and "CONDOR" (same as thomas cook) but only direct from frankfurt and duesseldorf and bloody expensive (we have saved a fortune by booking AIR FRANCE). sofar we understand and how it is promoted here in germany the place to be for germans in yucatan is PLAYA DEL CARMEN .... SHARKIES DON"T CARE ..we will be back to TTR!
