How has the yacht experience been lately. I heard there have been some changes to clothing optional and food and drink service. Can anyone chime in?

We haven't been on it since the changes but pretty pissed about them. Mainly because I have a gluten allergy and can't drink beer. We have it booked for July so hopefully people can chime in on their experiences with the new policy as we would love to hear as well.

What are the changes? Was thinking about booking in September. Or is there somewhere to look to see the changes?

Just went on in May. No full nudity, topless ok. No extra curricular activities below. Will sell you bottles using the TTR price sheet (though cash might get a discount). Stopped at a new spot and fed birds and fish and did a better tour of the island by the National Park end and then anchored in the usual spot for swimming. Had a shot concoction and only beer in the cooler otherwise. The food option was selected by someone else so I don’t know what was offered but we had the typical tuna/guac/veggie/cracker tray. Been on 5+ times previous and they gave the “rules” up front this last trip.

We're going on June 21st for the first time, so I have nothing to compare it against. But will report back after.

Essentially beer is now the only alcohol served unless you buy a bottle from the resort. And you can't bring outside alcohol so the only option is to "upgrade" to get different alcoholic options. Topless only in certain parts of the water.

We can live with the clothing optional changes, but the booze thing is what really makes us mad. It's a freakin all-inclusive resort! They can easily include cheap booze at the very least!

Thank you for the info. We’ve never been out on the yacht before so we don’t have a frame of reference. We end up having about half of our resort credit at the end of our trips and thought we’d try reserving the yacht this time with our resort credit instead of spending it on overly priced items in the gift shop the last day of our vacation.

That's what we're doing this trip. Last trip we used it on a room upgrade, which was great. Our contract is for the Seduction Suites (which are always full) so we were in a trendy garden room and got upgraded to a Bash room for no money out of pocket. I was pretty happy with that.

Thanks for the updates. I hope all of this doesn’t last. We really enjoyed being nude out on the boat. But, then again I guess all good things must come to an end!

we have it booked August 24 and really didn’t mind ordering the food and liquor, I figured it was a trade-off for the freedom You have out there. but now with more restrictions, going to have to think long and hard about the value.

x-posting from the Yacht Trip thread

I had a lovely conversation with Dulce, who is still the yacht concierge (as of 6/5/26). She's been great to work with the past few years.
    Confirmed all the below:
    1. Topless only, no nudity, no using the bedroom, but of course can still use the bathroom
    2. Only beer and sodas included for drinks, and only veg and chips and guacamole for snacks.
    3. They are still using the 2025 yacht menu. I'll try to get it to upload here, but it's currently on my phone via whatsapp (and cancuncare doesn't seem to like pdf files, even if they are under 1MB). You CAN order food per the menu, as well as bottles service, the prices on the menu are accurate, but if you ask about non-listed items, you may be able to get Dulce to give you a bit of a break. The lowest cost bottle is $195, and after asking she was able to offer some other basic bottles at that rate - think Bacardi rum. You do get an "extra hour" on the boat if you buy a bottle. But keep in mind, if you have 10 people and they all want a mixed drink (assuming you can get everyone to agree to an alcohol), one bottle might be just a single drink per person. Also, perhaps most importantly, you CANNOT USE loyalty credits for anything beyond the $600 rental fee.

All in all, and I mentioned this to Dulce as well, seems like for the $600 rental plus $200 for a single bottle with minimal food, where only the rental fee can use loyalty credits, you CAN find cheaper all inclusive options. Certainly if you just want a deck boat-type experience, all inclusive with drinks and slightly better snacks, you can find rentals for $600-800 (which is ostensibly same price or less for much more). And if you want to keep with the cabin yacht experience, you can find rentals for $800-1000, which is still probably a better deal if all 10 people have more than a couple drinks. However, if you are booking by yourself, just make sure you ask about exactly what's included. They may quote one price and then when you go to book they tell you that was just the rental fee, and then there is an additional dock fee, an additional crew member fee, etc etc.
