I never really thought about it until now, but this was our experience as well. It seems a majority of the noise in the tower rooms comes from the hallway side. The higher up you are the more exposure you have to the road, and utilities on the room of the other buildings. Our first trip we had the air conditioning units essentially outside our door.

The real advantage of being higher is the better views…

Just wondering if you, or anyone here, has had a chance to try the "free 25 minute hydrotherapy" I am on the booking site now, and that is one of the "features" of the "Playful Experience" room I'm interested in.

We used/tried our membership complementary hydrotherapy perk on a rainy day during our last trip. Men and women are separated at the reception desk, so I dipped out after about five minutes and the spouse enjoyed the women's only steam room for a bit.

We do it at least once or twice per trip, it’s included as part of our membership. We like to go in the morning - it detoxifies the body and gets you in a good space for the day ahead. There’s a dry and a wet sauna, a cold plunge pool and cold shower and a giant whirlpool with several stations. The whirlpool is common to both sides but saunas are separated between men and women. That said, they will usually let you attend the same side as your partner if it’s not too busy.

We use this often. The "25 minutes" is a rough timing as going through the hydrotherapy "circuit" is at your own pace. They will check on you in the sauna after 8-10 minutes, but otherwise, take as long as you want. (we take about 30 seconds in the cold plunge, for instance) The final step, which is in the therapy pool, we tend to use all the stations multiple times and have only had to share once or twice out of dozens of times, and have never been kicked out. I would guess we normally take closer to 40 mins.

Thanks everyone for the input! If couples are separated by gender when they first get there, how do they coordinate meeting up afterward?

We always ask the spa attendant if we can so the sauna rounds together. This past trip they said no to the first round as there were other customers but we were allowed to proceed to the men’s side for the second round. Recommend to ask the spa attendant once you have changed vs the receptionist.

We like the Lush Jacuzzi rooms near the Quiet Pool over the Tower rooms. We dislike walking through the lobby and an elevator ride to get to the room. There’s also nothing wrong with the Garden View rooms…you’re not gonna spend much time in the room anyway. Sky Bar is a nice quiet place to have lunch on a few of the days, but that’s about it. Not really an important perk. I certainly wouldn’t pay for the Playful Experience. Booking with Orbitz or Expedia we generally get that added for no upcharge.

We definitely prefer the Trendy Oceanview rooms, the ones right next to the Sexy Pool. We’ve stayed in the Gardenview and Plush Jacuzzi, and were “upgraded” to the Tower on our last trip. The extra room in the Tower… wasn’t all that big a difference for us considering we only use the room to change, sleep, and screw. We’re already members, so we get rooftop access and free room service anyway. The Garden and Jacuzzi rooms were quieter if you have trouble sleeping with noise from Bash I guess, except some occasional loud people in the halls for the Jacuzzi rooms after Bash is over.
