Looking at Desire Resorts vs. Temptation Cancun. Any feedback would be appreciated. Looking at an April 2025 trip.
Well, for starters, as you are probably aware, the Desire resorts allow full nudity and public sex...Temptation allows only topless by and in the pool, but never full nudity, and no public sex. There are many other differences...Desire is a mostly older than TTR crowd, for the most part, and has a higher percentage of Lifestyler's vs Temptation. Temptation is more of a high-energy, party atmosphere versus a more laid back atmosphere at the Desire resorts as well.
Desire allows some public sex: at the beds around the roof top hot tub and in the play room. It also occurs on the beach beds. It's not like people are banging at the pool during the day or in a restaurant, disco, or gym. It's avoidable or discoverable, depending on your proclivities. Each trip varies for proportion of guests who are fully nude, it seems to be steadily going down. More men than women go full nude. Several years ago maybe 80% were full nude, our last trip it was maybe 1/3rd. More so at night in the hot tub after the Disco empties out. The costumes and women's dresses are more sexy and revealing at DRM. The new disco at DRM, although cold, is indoors and has a a night club feel, unlike Bash at TTR. There are no Instagram/social media influencers, guy groups, or cameras at DRM. It's smaller and most people get to be familiar, if not friends, after a week (the EDEN expansion has changed that a bit). The party starts later at DRM and goes later. The pool during the day is chill, music's not too loud and only a couple of playmaker games during the day. The real party is at night. At TTR sometimes people can party out during the day and miss the night, that is rare at Desire. The beach at DRM is fairly private and the ocean is swimmable. Beach at Pearl is touristry.
Look up the trip reports/reviews on this forum for each resort. Lots of good info.
