We had that happen one time. They told us at check in, and we had a different colored wrist band. Basically gave you members privileges
You will get some benefits but definitely not members benefits as stated above. You will most likely get better selection of alcohol, access to one area of the pool deck, tower access and some discounts on products and services. Sometimes they throw a free bottle or 25min massage. Ask what are your entitlements at check-in.
I wonder why. I would think booking directly with the resort would yield nicer benefits for the guests, as an incentive. Just seems strange to me to offer incentives to a third-party company. But it's good to know as maybe I'll try booking that way next time.
Members will get preferential rate for booking with Premier, 40% loyalty credits (for those who have it as part of their contract), butler service, exclusive menus at restaurants, Premier pool deck access and more. For some it may be worth it and for others not. We have enjoyed our benefits a lot.
We understand that Temptation as partnered with Expedia recently, most likely to boost up sales after the pandemic so they will, as other resorts and hotels will do, offer some sort of incentive to partners/travel agencies.
