Vegan Dining Options?

Do any of the suites have a kitchenette?

 

No. This is an all inclusive resort so only coffee makers, pretty sure there aren’t even microwaves anywhere. You do get a stocked mini fridge. Most of the restaurants will accommodate special requests (especially if you tip) but I would not count on the communication to the kitchen being 100%. There is a buffet for all three meals so you can pick and choose as well but I would not classify this as vegan by any standards except maybe Mexican.

 

Thank you for that info - I am going to contact the resort directly and see what they offer. I wish they had their menus online!

 

In my experience both at TTR and other resorts in Mexico, you will not find the wait staff understands the difference between vegetarian and vegan. Further, Vegetarian is simply the absence of big chunks of meat… for the most part, it does not mean the absence of meat products as part of cooking.
if you are in fact a strict vegan you are going to find any prepared dishes to be a challenge… unless you are willing to willfully ignore ‘ what might be’.
But yes, you will find a decent amount of variety available to you in the buffet restaurant that you can pick through yourself. You will not starve, but you will probably not find the resort to be a great culinary adventure. ‍

 

Oh that's very honest, thank you. Do you know if it is possible to order delivery from outside restaurants?

 

I’ve never tried tbh… I would think that you could meet a delivery person at the front door. But I don’t think they would get past the front door. I’ve always just gone out for my external food adventures.

 

Are there restaurants within walking distance of the resort?

 

Yes- there are 3 or 4 to the left within a half mile and a couple to the right. All are across the street (except one in the hotel next door) but I seriously doubt any of them will be true Vegan.

 

Ok that's really good to know. Most restaurants in North America these days tend to have a few vegan friendly options on their menu - but I haven't tried Mexico so that will be a whole new adventure!

 

My wife is also vegan and can always find something to eat.
