Grand Miches Review 11/8/23-11/13/23: This was our first trip to Grand Miches, and we had only visited temptations cancun, never having been to Desire. So we weren’t too sure what to expect, but this was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. We are not in the “lifestyle”, but enjoy being open and adventurous. Booking: We booked our room and flights through the resort on the website. Flew in from JFK and arrived at PUJ at 1:30pm. PUJ Airport VIP service: We reserved the vip experience at PUJ, so there was a worker holding a sign with our names on it waiting for us as we got off the plane. We got into a van and they took us to the vip lounge. We gave them our passports, and transportation service name. Once in the lounge there was water, soda, beer and snacks for anyone in the lounge, which we were the only ones in it. They got our luggage for us and took us to where our transportation would be waiting for us. We got to our ride and were on our way to Grand Miches. Transportation: We booked round trip through Punta Cana Limo Transfers, and had the vehicle, suburban, to ourselves. The driver did not understand too much english but was kind and got us to the resort in a hour and 5min. Very nice scenery on the way there and back to the airport. On the way home, our driver understood a little bit more english and offered to stop at a gift shop close to the airport so we could pick up souvenirs if we wanted. Check in: We were greeted at the lobby entrance and completed the check in process and scheduled our massage along with some dinner reservations. The room was ready and we were escorted to the room by our butler Jordan. Butler service: We had Jordan as our butler and he was fantastic. He used whatsapp to keep in contact with us during our time at the resort, which made asking him questions, and setting things up a breeze. He was very helpful, accommodating and attentive. Would highly recommend him. Lovescape Jacuzzi Room: We had no complaints about our room. Yes the small construction details that people have been saying are there. Looks like they rushed the painting, and the wood borders were discolored and a little warped but had no affect on our enjoyment. We were only in the room to sleep, change, a nap here and there and we did use the jacuzzi in the room once, which takes a bit of time to fill, but was enjoyable. Room was very spacious, and we had no complaints about the room. We met people who had leaks in their rooms, as it did storm pretty much everyday we were there, but they weren’t overly displeased otherwise. Fridge was always stocked with beverages. Pool and Jacuzzi pool: We thoroughly enjoyed our time everyday at the pool, and always had a great time talking to and meeting people, and of course the bartenders for the pool bar were excellent. The jacuzzi was very enjoyable, always hot and relaxing, and a great time. There was always a good crowd at either one, and people to hang out and talk with. Food and drinks: We ate at Suki twice, once for hibachi. We ate at Sahlo the other 3 nights for dinner. We ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet. We didn’t have one bad piece of food. Everything was delicious, but the hibachi was our favorite, which you do need to reserve. The drinks were always flowing, and good. Massage: We went with the Tantric Massage as we had done the erotic one in cancun. It was very relaxing, sensual, and very enjoyable. Resort: Overall the resort looks great, the beach is amazing and the resort is not overly big. We did not go over to the temptations side as we never felt the need or the urge to go over there. A couple we met said they went over to the temptations side and it was full of locals and not a good vibe, so take that as you want. People: We met amazing people this trip, and never felt pressured or insecure around anyone. Everyone was friendly, and wanting to have a good time. Overall: We will be coming back, and thanks to everyone we met, we plan on trying out Desire Pearl as well.

how was the shuttle ride to and from resort? That and the longer flight time for us is the only reason we haven’t booked it. I know the beaches in the DR are so much better than Cancun area
The ride was not too bad, but could see how it could be a little too long if you have a overly long flight. For us the Flight there was about 3hr 15min and home it was 3hr 45min. On the way to the resort we were excited and checking out the scenery. On the way to the airport to go home, we used the ride to get a nap in. Overall we did not mind the travel time as our time and experiences at the resort made up for it, and really did not cut into our trip as we knew ahead of time about the at least an hour ride to and from the airport so we were prepared to go along with it.
Great Review, we were there over Halloween. Had a great time. We did head over to Miches a couple of times. We did eat at Flame over there. We booked for next year before we left! P&L
Quick question here for those who have already been to GM or even Temptation Miches. At Desire we usually tip in US dollars since we’re in Mexico. Would you recommend the same in Dominican Republic, or we should change money for Dominican Pesos instead?
